Jeffersonian Republican. (Stroudsburg, Pa.) 1853-1911: March 14, 1867
In this borough, on Saturday last, March 9th, Mr. Joseph Kerr, aged 78 years and 7
months. For about half a century a citizen of this county, Mr. Kerr was indentified
with its interest; his name standing officially connected with most of its
enterprises, especially those of the borough, and the adjoining township. He
represented this district in the Legislature of Pennsylvania, and was honored by his
party (the Democratic) with other positions of trust and profit. Through his efforts
the Presbyterian church of this place was organized, and in its affairs he always
took an active part.
