(Stroudsburg, Pa.) 1853-1911: November 19, 1868 At the residence of Mr. Jacob Shaffer, in this borough, on the 14th inst., Julius Martz, aged about 23 years. The deceased was a stranger in this place. His death ensued from a severe wound on the inside of one of his knees, accidentally received while chopping timber, near Goldsborough, some three weeks ago. About two weeks ago, he was brought to the residence of Mr. Shaffer, where he received the best of medical and surgical attention... Before proceeding to the cemetery, the Rev. D. M. Henkel, of the Lutheran Church, delivered an able and impressive exhortation at the house. It is said that the deceased was a Currier of Morocco Dresser by trade and has relatives residing at Lancaster.
