Jeffersonian Republican. (Stroudsburg, Pa.) 1853-1911: August 17, 1865
In Middle Smithfield, Monroe County, Pa., on the 12th inst., Mr. Jacob Peters, aged
31 years, 4 months and 1 day. His remains were followed to the grave at Bushkill,
Pa., on Monday last, by a large concourse of mourning relatives and friends, and the
members of Fort Penn Lodge, I. O. of O. F. He was buried according to the ritual of
the order. After burial the procession proceeded to the church, where the occasion
was appropriately noticed in an able and impressive discourse, by the Rev. A.
McWilliams...
