(Stroudsburg, Pa.) 1853-1911: July 13, 1871 In this borough, on Tuesday, the 11th inst., Emily, wife of Morris Smiley, aged 51 years and 19 days. In the death of Mrs. Smiley, we have lost from our midst a useful citizen, and a good woman. She was a daughter of the late Michael Brown, and was married to Wm. Coolbaugh about the year 1840. Mr. Coolbaugh met with a terrible accident, by being caught and mangled in machinery, some years since, which caused his death, in the noontide of life, and when his time and life were most valuable to his family. He died universally respected, and his death spread a gloom over our whole community. Subsequently, the deceased married Morris Smiley. She has raised a family of children who are useful citizens... The relatives and friends of the family are requested to attend her funeral, this Thursday morning, at 10 o'clock, at the house. Services at the Methodist Episcopal Church. Interment at the Cemetery.
