Joined Plymouth Friends Meeting in 1774. Executor of Will (signed 4-21-1776) for Samuel Davis. Attended Norristown Presbyterian Church. First will probated in Montgomery County. PA in 1786. Gertrude Supplee Wager b. 8-15-1725, d 8-10-1797 Descendant from earliest Swedish family settled before 1700. Jesse Wager d 4-18-1842 First US census (1790): 2 daughters + wife + 1 son over age 16 + 1 son under age 16. Elizabeth Wager Cooper b 2-22-1749, d 1814 Married James Cooper (b 1729, d 1795). Stepson was Judge William Cooper, founder of Cooperstown whose son was James Fenimore Cooper. Elizabeth and James had a son named Meshach b 1783, d 1853. Benjamin Franklin Wager b 3-17-1766, d 2-18-1843 Grocery store owner and farmer. Norristown Library founder - 1794. Built a 3 1/2 story house in 1842 on Sandy Hill Road (plaque with his name on it is on right side of the building). Left Norristown Presbyterian Church $20.08. Left grandson William $1000. Buried at the Norristown Presbyterian Cemetary Mausoleum. Jacob Wager b 8-5-1797, d 6-24-1878 Farmed and raised cattle. Very tight with money (according to his grandson, Jacob) Married three times to: Lydia L, and Hannah Ramsey (sisters) and then to Sarah Shaner. Apparently his YOUNG third wife, Sarah Shaner, refused to live in the 1842 house (two wives had died there, perhaps Sybilla Rex Fisher Wager was burned there later in 1859...) so Jacob built a second house next door at 1501 Sandy Hill Road (approximately 1850-1855). Hannah Ramsey Wager b 11-3-1803, d 1-16-1848 Buried at Christ (Swedes) Church, Bridgeport, PA William Ramsey Wager b 1831 ?, d 9-15-1870 Graduated from Gwynedd Boarding School 7-28-1858. Married Sybilla Rex Fisher on 11-27-1859 at the Norristown First Methodist Church. Had a meat store on Belvoir Avenue. Had an oyster boat at Chesapeake City, Maryland (died there). Fought in Civil war. Promoted from 1st Corporal to 2nd Lieutenant of Pennsylvania Infantry Company E, Regiment 115. Slightly wounded at Chancellorsville May 3, 1863. Wrote up charges that lead to the court martial of Capt. R. L. Thompson in a letter dated May 26, 1865 near Falmouth, VA. Letter dated April 2, 1863 near Falmouth, VA requests a 10 day leave to visit family in Philadelphia due to father's sickness and family business. Letter dated June 4, 1863 near Falmouth, VA requests honorable discharge due to chronic diarrhea. Letter dated 9-22-1870 from Sam F. Wag of Cabots Corner Chesapeake City to Jacob Wager, telling of William's recent death and asking what to do with his possessions. Sybilla Rex Fisher Wager b 2-21-1834, d 12-14-1859 Burned to death at 25 years of age by falling down cellar stairs with a coal oil lamp in hand. Becky Gordon (maid) saved son, Jacob Wager, who was in her arms. Buried in Barren Hill Cemetary. Jacob Wager b 7-11-1859, d 2-10-1948 Contractor and farmer. Buried at Evangelical Church of Plymouth Meeting, PA. Hannah Kirkner Wager b 5-2-1860, d 10-8-1936 Buried at Gold Hill Cemetary, PA. John Fisher Wager b 8-22-1884, d 3-15-1958 Married 4-4-1908 to Anna Morrison Scott Lowden. Owned a Ford and Dodge auto dealership in Philadelphia from 1913-1955. Buried at Washington Memorial Chapel, Valley Forge, PA. Anna Morrison Scott Lowden Wager b 9-14-1893, d 7-17-1938 Family clan - MacPherson. Came from Dundee, Scottland (born there) to Pittsburg in 1892. Buried at Washington Memorial Chapel, Valley Forge, PA.
