JOHN FREDERICK, born in Montgomery county, Pa., December 16, 1830. Admitted to bar, 1859. Enlisted in Civil war and distinguished himself at Vicksburg. Commanded a brigade in the Wilderness campaign, and distinguished himself before Petersburg. Brevetted major-general in 1865. Elected Auditor-general of Pennsylvania, 1865 and 1868.
