He suffered a heart attack while doing his family chores. Born in Berks county, he was a son of the late George K and Sarah (Junkin) Landis. He was a farmer all his working life and he would have worked on his Pruss Hill Road farm 60 years in April. He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ and was master of the Sanatoga Grange 25, state deputy for the Montgomery County Grange, and member of Pennsylvania Proma Grange 8. Surviving with his widow are two sons, Ronald H. at home; Paul, Shaeffer Road, Lower Pottsgrove; a brother, Arthur J Landis, Pottstown RFD 3; and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be 1pm Wednesday from Schumacher and Reber Funeral Home, 359 King St. The Rev. Stanley J. Wagner, pastor at Zion UCC will officiate. A viewing will be held 7 to 8:30pm Tuesday at the funeral home. 1/23/1975 Landis Rites: Funeral services for Howard R Landis, 73, husband of Alice (Burns) Landis, Pottstown RD3, were Wednesday from Schumacher and Reber Funeral Home, 359 King St. The Rev. Stanley J Wagner, pastor of Zion's United Church of Christ officiated. Interment was in Limerick Garden of Memories.
