MAXWELL, A well-known resident of the city, died yesterday morning at 12:45 o'clock in the Elks' private room at the Altoona hospital of heart trouble. He was admitted to that institution just one week prior to his death. Colonel Maxwell, as he was known by the residents of the city, was born in Danville, Pa., about 57 years ago. He had been a resident of Altoona for the past ten years. Mr. Maxwell's occupation since he was a boy was in the field of amusements. For the past twenty years he was a traveling representative of several Carnival companies. Two years he traveled with the Mundey company as the advertising man and last summer he was employed by the J. Frank Hatch show company in the same capacity. He had signed a contract with the same people and was to join them on April 18. For the past eight years he boarded and roomed at 1501 Eleventh avenue. Mr. Maxwell was a member of lodge No. 17, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of Denver, Col. Deceased's parents died some twenty-five years ago. He was later married, his wife dying twelve years ago. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Emil Moser of San Antonio, Tex., who has been notified of his death, also two brothers in the west. The body will be shipped to Danville tomorrow for interment. The funeral will be in charge of the Danville lodge of Elks. Altoona Mirror, Altoona, Pa., Monday, April 8, 1907
