Shultz A Physician Well Known in Montour and Columbia Counties Dr B.F. Shultz, a prominent citizen of this place died on Saturday evening last of softening of the brain. He was well known throughout Montour and Columbia Counties and in his time was one of the best Physicians in this community. He was born in Columbia County in 1828. He attended the schools and received his preparatory of study at home. He later attended the Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, and graduated from that institution. He then came to Danville and soon built up a very extensive practice. Dr Shultz was very methodical in business matters and was always active in advancing the interests of this place. In politics he was an ardent Republican. For many years he was a faithful worker in the Mahoning Presbyterian Church and he was always true to his Christian Duties. The deceased is survived by five children, his wife preceded him to the grave nine years ago. The children are Dr S. Cameron Shultz of this city, Mrs. O. Drumheller of Shamokin, Mrs. A.H. Grone of Bloom Street, this city, and Mrs. Thomas Vincent and Miss Minta Shultz who have resided with their father on Mill Street. The funeral took place yesterday morning at 11 o'clock.
