Friend John Nickum and son Henry executors. Witnesses Conrad Roth, Jacob Lahr, Christian D. Senseman. In the name of God Amen! I Gottlieb Bauer of Plainfield Township in the County of Northampton and State of Pennsylvania, Yeoman, being weak in Body, but of sound mind memory and understanding (blessed be God for the same) do make and publish this my Last Will and Testament in manner following to wit: Principally and first of all, I command my immortal Soul into the hands of God, who gave it, and my Body to the Earth, to buried in a decent and christian-like manner, at the discretion of my Executors hereinafter named,and as to such worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life,I give and dispose of the same in manner following to with After my just Debts and Funeral Expences having been discharged and paid by my said Executors hereinafter named, It is my will that my loving wife Anna Maria shall hold, use, and occupye the Messuage, Tenement and Plantation held owned and occupyed by me at the Time of my Decease, and that during the Term Five Years after my Decease, and fully to be compleat and ended, Together with the full Yieldings and Profits of said Plantation. Provided nevertheless, In case my said Executors should find it absolute requisite in order to discharge certain Debts before the Expiration of said Term, and which shall stand indebted for at the Time of my Decease, then to be, in the full Power and entire Discretion of my said Executors, to dispose of said Messuage, Tenement, and plantation, before said Term of Time, Years hath expired. And after the Expiration of said Term, then it is my Will that my said Executors dispose and sell the said Messuage Tenement and Plantation to the best advantage, and in manner as they find most advantageously The Clear Proceeds of which Sale after all my Debts having been fully discharged, It is my will to have put out upon Interest by my Executors, and to remain upon Interest during the Course of the natural life of my said dear wife Anna Maria, and yearly to be paid by my said Executors unto her, and after her Decease, the said Principal to be equally distributed amongst my Nine Children, Henry, Anna Maria, Elisabeth, Charles, Joseph, Catharina, George, Lydia, and William. It is further my will that my said wife Anne Maria shall hold, use and occupye my Horses, Cows, Cattle, Farming Utensils and household Furniture, as held and owned by me at the Time of my Decease, during above mentioned Term of Five years and after the Expiration of said Term, I give and bequeath unto my said dear wife Anna Maria, one Cow, the choice made by her out of the number then remaining, one Clock, and as much of the Household Furniture as she may choose or require, the remaining Part of Horses, Cows, Cattle, Farming Utensils and Household Furniture It is my Will to have sold, by my said Executors, after the Expiration of said Term, and the Clear Proceeds of this Sale to be put upon Interest and distributed, in like manner as the Proceeds of the Sale of the Plantation as abovementioned. And lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my loving Son Henry and my trusty and loving friend JohnNickum, to be the Executors of this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all other Wills legacies and bequests, heretofore made, and declaring this and no other to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto put my hand and Seal Dated this fourth day of June Anno Dom. one thousand Eight hundred and Eleven Signed Gottlib Baur. D. Senseman. Northampton County SS On the 19th day of August Anno Domini 1811 before me Nathaniel Michler, Register for the probate of wills and granting Letters of Administration in and for the county aforesaid came Conrad Roth, Jacob Lahr, Christn. D. Senseman, the subscribing witnesses to the above and foregoing last will and testament of Gottlieb Bauer, dec'd, the two former of whom upon their solemn oath, and the latter upon his solemn affirmation, agreeably to law, did respectively depose, declare and say that they were personally present and did see and hear the said testator sign, seal, publish and declare the same as and for his last will and testament, that at the time of so doing he was of sound mind memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge and belief; And also that these deponents and affirmant, signed their names to the same as witnessess in the presence and at the request of the said testator and in the presence of each other Witness my Hand Nath'l Michler, Register.
