Drach; Nathaniel Michler. In the Name of God Amen! I, Adam Roth of the township of Moore in the County of Northampton and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Yeoman, being sick and weak in body but of sound and well disposing mind and Memory, blessed be Good for the same, and all other his mercies and favours conferred on me, and calling to mind the Uncertainty of this mortal life, has thought fit to make and publish this my last Will and testament of an concerning the temporal estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in manner and form following, that is to say; first it is my Will that all my just and lawful debts and funeral expences be duly paid And I give and bequeath unto my dear with Catharine the following Articles, to wit: one complete and good feather bed, bedding and bedstead one furniture bedcurtain one chest all her clothes one cow and cow chain, one hog, if any belonging to me at my decease, two swarms of bees and hives, one large and one small iron pot, two earthen dishes, two pewter plates four pewter tablespoons one frying pan two large kitchen or cook-spoons, one large kitchen or cook-fork, one large cedar wash tub, one chair, one vinegar keg, one empty barrel, three mill-bags, one spinning wheel, one bottle, two cedar pails, ten bushels of rye, all the flax and tow, and all the linen cloths, tow linen which shall be found and belonging to me at the time of my decease, and fifteen pounds of good and lawful money of the United States, in gold or silver coin, to be paid unto her, by my executor hereinafter named; at or before the expiration of one whole year next after my decease. Item, I give and bequeath unto my said dear wife Catharine, over and besides what I have already give and bequeathed unto her as hereintofore stated, the further sum of eighty pounds of like Money as aforesaid, to be paid unto her by my executor hereinafter named in payments of ten pounds each, the first payment to be due and payable on the day of the date one year next after my decease, and so on in each and every succeeding year the like sum of ten pounds on the day aforesaid until the aforesaid eighty pounds are fully paid unto her. And I do hereby authorise and require my executor herein after named within some convenient time and as speedily as possible after my decease to proceed to have all my estate appraised and inventorised, and to make sale thereof by public vendue or otherwise as he shall think most advantageous and best; he my executor shall collect my outstanding debts due on book accounts bonds notes etc and the monies accruing from the sales aforesaid book demands bonds notes etc. together with the yearly payments which I have to receive from a certain Michael Drach, due on obligations for the land formerly mine but now conveyed unto him, I give and bequeath in the following Manner to wit: I give and bequeath unto my youngest daughter Barbara, the Sum of five and twenty pounds of lawful money of the United States in gold or silver coin, over and above her share hereinafter recorded?? and bequeathed unto her the said money shall be put on yearly interest with sufficient security within one year next after my decease, by my Executor hereinafter named, and the interest shall yearly and every year be paid unto my said daughter Barbara and I do hereby most earnestly request my executor hereinafter named to take the most particular and tender care of the person and property of my said daughter Barbara, she being weak in Mind & Understanding: Item, I give and bequeath unto my son Christian and to his lawful heirs, five and twenty cents and no more he my said son Christian having received his full share out & from my estate during my lifetime: All the remainder of the monies accruing, shall be put on yearly interest with sufficient security by my Executor herinafter named until the eighty pounds herein before mentioned and bequeathed unto my dear wife Catharine are fully paid and satisfied, then all such monies remaining and due, and coming out and from my estate shall be divided into six equal and like shares, which said six shares I give and bequeath as followeth, to wit: unto my sons Jacob and Valentine or their lawful heirs, each one of said shares; the children of my late son David deceased shall have one share, equally to be divided between them. And unto my daughters Catharine, the wife of John Erit, and Margaret the wife of Philip Fry and Barbara my youngest daughter or their lawful heirs, each one of said shares, so that my said two sons, and my three daughters as abovein named, and the children of my son David dec'd together shall have equal and like shares of the aforesaid reside and remainder the said shares to be paid unto them respectively by my executor, within one year next after the last payment of the eighty pounds bequeathed unto my wife, hath been due and payed. And lastly I nominate, constitute and appoint my trusty and loving son Jacob to be the sole executor of this my Will, hereby revoking all other Wills, legacies and bequests by me heretofore made and declaring this and no other to be my last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I the said Adam Roth have hereunto set my hand and seal the twenty first day of October in the year of our LORD one thousand eight hundred and six. Drach Nath'l Michler Northampton County, to wit, on the 13 Day of January AD 1807 Before me George Thrice Deputy Register etc. came the above named Nathaniel Michler and Michael Drach two of the subscribing witnesses to the last will and Testament of Adam Roth deceased who being duly sworn as the law requires, did respectively depose and say that they were present and did see and hear the said testator sign seal publish and declare the same as and for his last will and testament that at the doing thereof he the said testator was of sound Mind Memory and of a disposing Understanding to the best of their knowledge and belief and also that they these Deponants subscribed their names as witnesses to the same in the presence & at the request of the said Testator and in the presence of Solomn? Drach the other witness & in the presence of each other - Witness my Hand signed Geo. Thrice.
