Senseman; Jacob Lehr; Charles Bauer. (Transcriber's Note: The sidebar in the will book lists this as the will of John Roth, but the body of the will always refers to Conrad Roth, and from christening records, I know these are Conrad's 8 children.) In the Name of God, Amen. I, Conrad Roth of Bushkill Township in the County of Northampton, State of Pennsylvania Weaver being very sick and weak in body, but of Sound Mind, memory and understanding, blessed be God for the same, do make and Publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and Form following to wit Principally and first of all I commend my immortal Soul into the Hands of God who gave it and by Body to the Earth to be buried in decent and Christian-like manner, at the discretion of my Executors hereinafter named and as to such Worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life, I give and dispose of it in manner following. I give and devise and it is my Will that the Plantation occupied at the time of decease may not be sold, until after the decease of my dear Wife Catharina, but to be rented out to the best advantage by my Executors hereinafter named, and my said Wife to receive for her own use the yearly rents and Income so accruing. Further also to have possession and occupation during her Natural life, of the dwelling and stabling on the said Plantation, which I hold and occupye at the time of my decease, nevertheless however, allowing my said Wife the Privilege and liberty in case she should do think best fit, to have said Plantation disposed off as any time before her decease, and accept in time thereof the yearly Interest of 6 pr. ??tum of five Hundred Pounds lawfull Money of Pennsylvania during her natural life - Further I do give and bequeath to my said Wife Catharina the Choise of two Cows and two Sheep, owned by me at the time of my decease, further, also my Bay Mare if still in my Possession at such time as also my riding Chair. Further I bequeath unto my said Wife for her use and possession the Choise of all the House furniture occupied by me at the time of my decease to hold and Occupye thereof as much as she deems Necessary and requisite during the Course of her Natural life the remaining part of all my personal Estate to be sold, to best advantage by my Executors hereinafter named and in Case not sufficiant means should be fund to pay off certain sums of Money due by me on the purchase of a small tract of Land then my Executors to be at liberty to dispose of such part of my real Estate as found necessary and requisite to discharge said Debt, this to be done agreeable to the best of their Knowledge and Discretion. Further I bequeath to my youngest Son John a Weaving loom, with the Privilege of purchasing the further Implements thereto appertaining at the price fixed upon by regular appraisment - Further I bequeath unto each of my five Sons Jacob Peter Daniel Christian and John the full Sum of fifty Pounds lawful Money of Pennsylvania to paid unto them after the decease of my said Wife - And a touching the residues and remainders of my Estate real and personal, it is my Will that the same may be distributed and divided into Equal Parts or shares amongst my Eight Children to wit my five sons - Jacob Peter Daniel Christian and John and to my three daughters Barbara intermarried with David Musselman Elizabeth intermarried with John Demuth and Anna Maria intermarried with Henry Bouer. And lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my loving Sons Peter & John and my loving son in law David Musselman to be Executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all Other Wills legacies and bequests here. . .tofore made and declaring this and no Other to be my last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I have hereunto put my hand and seal Dated this seventeenth Day of August Anno Domini One thousand eight Hundred and Fourteen . Signed Conrad Roth Signed Sealed published pronounced and Declared by the said Testator as his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his Presence, and at his request have subscribed as Witness on the first side in the second line the Words County of Northampton and on the second side in the 4th line the word Wife were interlined before signing - Chr. D. Senseman - Northampton County. SS On the 28th day of March Anno Domini 1815 before me Nathaniel Michler Register for the probate of Wills and granting Letters of Administration in and for the County of Northampton came Jacob Lehr and Charles Bauer two of the Subscribing witnesses to the above and preceding instrument of writing purporting to be the last Will and testament of Conrad Roth deceased and being duly and solemnly sworn on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God agreeably to law did respectively depose and say that they were personally present at the Execution thereof and did see and hear the said Conrad Roth sign seal publish and declare the same as and for his last Will and testament that at the time of so doing he the said testator was of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge and belief and that they together with Christian D. Senseman the Other above subscribing witness signed the same as Witnesses in the presence and at the request of the said testator and in the presence of each Other - Witness my Hand, Nath.
