Friend George Ehret & son Matthias executors. Witnesses: Joseph Bauer, John Hoch and Christian D. Buss In the Name of God Amen. I Jacob Roth of the Township of Bushkill in the County of Northampton and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania being sick and weak in body but of sound mind and memory and understanding praised be God for it and Considering the Certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time thereof and to the end I may be the better prepared to leave this World, whenever it shall please God to call me hence do therefore make and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say First and Principally I commend my Soul unto the Hands of Almighty God my Creator hoping for free pardon and remission of all my Sins, and to enjoy everlasting happiness in the Heavenly kingdom through Jesus Christ my Savior, my body I commit to the earth to be buried at the discretion of my Executors herein after named and as to such worldly estate wherewith it has pleased God to entrust me I dispose of the same as followeth - It is my will that all my just debts as shall be by me owing at my death together with my funeral expenses and all charges touching the proving of or Otherwise concerning this my will shall in the first place out of my personal estate and effects be fully paid and satisfied and from and after payments thereof and Subject thereunto them my will is that all the residue of my goods, stocks, chattels and property whatsoever both Real and Personal to wit The Lot of eighteen Acres and one half acre lying and being withe said Township of Bushkill together with all the buildings thereon erected (the same being my present dwelling and habitation) my Mare Cattle Sheep Swine two Waggons plough, Harrow Windmill Sleigh and all other farming utensyls as also five Beds and Bedding Clock and Clockcase two Stoves one Copper and one Iron Kettle tables Chairs, Drawers, Clossets, chests and all and every Other Article of Household & Kitchen furniture in my possession at the time of my decease as also all the Linnen and Cloth Bees and Bee hives I give and Bequeath to my loving Wife Christine to her own use during her natural life and after her decease it is my will that my property both real and personal shall be divided amongst my seven children viz: Samuel, Sarah, intermarried with John Williams, Matthias, Nancy, Thomas, Jacob and Christine share an share alike. And lastly I nominate and appoint my said Son Mathias and my Trusty friend George Ehret Executors of this my last Will and Testament - In Witness whereof I Jacob Roth the Testator have to this my will set my Hand and Seal this fifth day of April in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight Hundred and twenty nine Jacob Roth his X his mark. Signed sealed published and declared by the above named Jacob Roth as and for his Last Will and Testament in the Presence of us, who at his request and in his Presence have subscribed our names as Witnesses threreunto Joseph Bauer - John Hoch - Christian D. Buss Northampton Co. SS On the 25th day of April AD 1829 Before me Charles L. Eberle Deputy Register etc. in and for said County came Joseph Bauer, John Hoch and Christian D. Buss the subscribing Witnesses to the preceding Last Will and Testament of Jacob Roth, dec'd, who were duly sworn did respectively depose and say that they was personally present saw and heard Jacob Roth the Testator sign (with his mark) seal publish and declare the same to be his Last Will and Testament that at the time of so doing he was of sound and well disposing mind memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge & belief and that they signed the same as Witnesses at the request of the Testator and in the Presence of each other.
