Executors wife Elizabeth, sons George and Henry. Witnesses: Peter Michael, John Rismiller, Jacob Bender, George Bender. In the Name of God Amen! I Jacob Werner of Bushkill Township in the County of Northampton and State of Pennsylvania Yeoman being in perfect health of Body and of sound mind memory and understanding, blessed be God for the same, however considering and reflecting upon the uncertainty of this transitory life, I feel urged and Do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following to wit Principally and first of all I commend my immortal soul into the hand of God who gave it and my body to the Earth to be buried in a decent and Christian like manner at the discretion of my Executors hereinafter named, and as to such worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give and dispose of the same in manner and form following to wit, I give and devise the use and occupation of the ?? or new room I now occupye in the House on my Plantation- Also the Garret over the said room, a stone stable and part of the Barn and a joint use of the kitchen, all on said Premises and now occupied by me unto my dear Wife Elizabeth during her natural life. Further I give and devise unto my said Wife, the Yearly Income of my Plantation in the Township aforesaid to be rented out by my Executors hereinafter named. Also I give and devise unto my said Wife of my Personal Estate as follows to wit one tin plate stove with pipe, a Table a Clock, a Chest one third part of all new linnen, flase or tow I am possessed of at the time of my decease, Bed Bedstead and bedding the kitchen dresser together with Pewter ware Crockory and Kitchen Furniture thereto appertaining a Copper Wash Kettle two Iron Pots, two Pails or water Buckets and two wash Tubs and in short, if any other of the Household and Kitchen Furniture my said Wife finds necessary use for it is my Wish that she may be put in the possession thereof and hold use and possess the aforementioned articles, during her natural life. Further also one Cow, two Hogs and two sheep, also one third part of the Grain and Meal bags the Cattle to be at her Discretion to choose and pick agreeably to her Wishes and Inclination from any remaining at the time of my decease. It is further my Will that after the above stated and mentioned articles, so bequeathed unto my said Wife having been put into her hands, the remaining part of my personal estate, if any, shall be disposed of and sold to the best advantage by my Executors hereinafter named and the Clear proceed thereof to be equably distributed Amongst my eight children hereinafter named And after the decease of my said Elizabeth then it is my Will that my Executors hereinafter named or the Survivor or Survivors of them might dispose of my Plantation aforesaid together with the appurtenances and appendages thereto appertaining also all of the above bequeathed Personal Property at such time of my Wife's decease as may remaining or found her possessed of The Proceeds whereof I do give and bequeath unto my eight children to wit, My six sons George Henry Adam Jacob John and Joseph and to my two Daughters Susanna intermarried with Peter Roth and Margareth married to Daniel Fulmer to be equally and regularly divided amongst them in even shares. Item I wish to annex heretofore omitted that is to say my Will, and I do give and devise unto my Wife to be paid to her immediately after my decease the sum of One hundred Dollars (say 100 Dollars US Currency) Also of the Grain and Provisions I am possessed of at the time of my decease as much, or any quantity she may consider herself in need of And lastly, I nominate Constitute and appoint my above named dear and loving Wife Elizabeth, and my Trusty and loving Sons George and Henry to be Executors of this my last Wills Legacies and Bequests by me heretofore made and declaring this and no other to be my last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this (blank) Day of (blank) Anno Domini One thousand Eight hundred and Eighteen. Signed Sealed published pronounced and declared by the said Testator as his last Will and Testament in the Presence of Us who in his presence and at his Request have Subscribed as Witnesses Northampton County. This 23rd day of March Anno Domini 1820 before me Nathaniel Michler Register for the probate of Wills and granting letters of Administration in and for the County of Northampton personally came Jacob Bender and George Bender two of the subscribing Witnesses to the preceding will and being duly sworn according to Law, did depose and say that they were present and saw and heard Jacob Werner the testator sign, seal publish, pronounce and declare the aforegoing instrument of Writing as and for his testament and last Will that at the time of so doing, he was of perfect, sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge, observation and belief, and that they, at his request and in his presence of John Rismiller another of the subscribing witnesses, signed the same as witnesses, that the name John Rismiller above subscribed as a Witness in the said John's own proper hand writing; these deponents further say that they have not seen Peter Michael, another and the first of the above subscribing witnesses sign his name thereto as much: that his name had been written previous to their attending as Witness.
