JOHANN ADAM REHBOCK (REBOCK) 1. Andreas, 2.Valentine, 3.Johann Adam Johann Adam Rehbock, (Rebock) son of Valentine and Anna Barbara, was born in Bieber, Germany on July 8, 1763, and came to America with his parents at the age of two. In 1787 he was taxed for 30 acres and one horse in Mahanoy Twp of Northumberland County, PA. He died on June 15, 1835 in Upper Mahanoy Twp., Northumberland County, PA. He is buried in the Himmel Church Cemetery in Rebuck, PA. He was a farmer. His real and personal estate was sold at public sale. His mountain woodland tract was bought by Peter Brosius, Jr. for $32.44. Each of his living children received $194.33 from the estate. Information concerning Johann Adam can be found in the Reformed Church book 1724 - 1785 of the Evangelical Church in Bieber, Germany. Rehbock is spelled without the h on his tombstone. All writing on the stone is in German. He made his last will and testament September 28, 1831, and it was entered for probate on June 23, 1835. The executors were his sons John and Godfried. The will is on record in the courthouse at Sunbury, in Book 3, page 202. (See copy of the will attached to this report.) Records show that Maria Rebecca Haupt Rehbock, wife of Johann Adam, born January 20, 1763, died July 29, 1830, five years before J. Adam's death. The Johann Adam family attended the Himmel Lutheran Church at Rebuck, PA. WIFE: Maria Rebecca Haupt was born on January 20, 1763. Where? Somewhere in Germany or in America? Her father, Phillip Haupt, had come to America from Germany on August 31, 1750, on the ship NANCY. This is the same ship and time that Johannes Rehbock, son of Andreas Rehbock, sailed. Maria Rebecca died on July 29, 1830 and is buried in the Himmel Church Cemetery in Rebuck, PA. Her parents were Phillip and Anna M. Forster Haupt. CHILDREN: 1. John Phillip Rebock (Rebuck) was born December 17, 1785, in Northumberland County, PA. He died December 6, 1853, at age 68 and is buried in the Himmel Church Cemetery in Rebuck, PA. He had three wives: 1. Maria Catharina Brosius, born Januaary 30, 1788, and died January 26, 1825. 2. Elizabeth Thomas, born January 9, 1794, died June 11, 1848. 3. Elizabeth Druckenmiller, born August 30, 1781, and died August 17, 1855. 2. John Adam Rebock (Rebuck), Junior was born May 24, 1787, in Northumberland County, PA. He died April 6, 1852, and is buried in St. Jacobs Cemetery in Pitman of Jordon Twp. Northumberland County, PA. He married Maria Barbara Kreuzer in 1808 who was born on May 22, 1790, and died January 13, 1863. 3. John Conrad Rebock (Rebuck) was born November 13, 1788, in Northumberland County, PA. He died October 18, 1857, in Washington Twp. of that county. He is buried in the Himmel Church Cemetery in Rebuck, PA. He married Juliana "Lulu" Reitz born January 1, 1792 and died November 9, 1857. 4. John Henry Rebock (Rebuck), a twin, was born on January 21, 1790 in Northumberland County, PA. He died on October 17, 1867, at the age of 77 years, 4 months and 23 days. He married Anna Marie Brosius who was born on March 15, 1796, and died January 13, 1869. 5. Anna Marie Barbara Rebock (Rebuck), John Henry's twin, was born January 21, 1790, in Northumberland County, PA, and died January 21, 1791. 6. Michael Rebock (Rebuck) was born September 20, 1792, in Northumberland County, PA. He died August 10, 1854, at 61 years, 10 months and 21 days. He is buried in St. Peter Cemetery in Red Cross in N Co., PA. He married Elizabeth Schmidt born December 18, 1797, and died March 23, 1895. 7. *PETER REBOCK (REBUCK), my direct ancestor, was born January 12, 1794, in N. County, PA. He died March 21, 1857, at the age of 63 years, 2 months and 9 days and is buried in the Red Cross Cemetery in Red Cross, Northumberland County, PA. He had two wives: l. MARIA SALOME STEPP, the mother of my great grandfather, Baltzer/Balthasar Raybuck. 2. Eve Groh b. May 8, 1804, and died June 26, 1858. 8. Maria Rebock (Rebuck) born October 20, 179?, in N. County, PA, and died March 23, 1866. She is buried in St. Matthew Cemetery in Erdman, PA. She married Jacob Koppenhaver who was born March 14, 1795, and died October 25, 1865. 9. Frederick Rebock (Rebuck) was born June 8, 1796, in Northumberland County, PA. He died December 24, 1860, and is buried in the Salem and Reform Cemetery in Rough and Ready, PA. He married Barbara Catherine Artz born May 26, 1801, and died June 30, 1885. 10. Godfrey/Godfried Rebock (Rebuck) called "Little" was born January 12, 1798, in Northumberland Co., PA, and died July 17, 1870, and is buried in Himmel Church Cemetery in Rebuck, PA. He married Anna Maria "Maricha" Brosius who was born March 23, 1805 and died March 23, 1892. 11. George "Leonard" Rebock (Rebuck/Raybuck) was born in December 1803 in Upper Mahanoy Twp. Northumberland Co., PA. He died June 6, 1861, in Perry Twp., Jefferson Co., PA, and is buried in St. John Cemetery in Perry Twp., Jefferson Co., PA. Continued on page 3 - He married Maria Margaret Reitz on May 6, 1825. She was born February 23, 1808, and died June 25, 1866. 12. Jonas Rebock/Rebuck/Raybuck was born November 12, 1805, in Upper Mahanoy Twp., N. Co., PA, and died October 11, 1880, at Sprankle Mills, Jefferson County, PA. He was buried in St. John Cemetery in Perry Twp., Jefferson Co. PA. He married Catherine Knarr/Knorr who was born July 3, 1806, and died August 28, 1871. Adam's children, George Leonard's family, wife and two daughters, and Jonas's family moved from the county where they were born and raised, Northumberland County, PA, to Jefferson County, PA in the early 1830s. They were found near Sprankle Mills, Perry Township, in the 1840 census. Jonas established a farm there. That farm is inhabited today by one of his descendants. Leonard and Jonas's family lived together there until Leonard could get a farm of his own. He moved to Shannondale in Clarion County, PA.
