We encourage links to the state and county table of contents. ____________________________________________________________ Leonard Ferster Deed in Trus to Sarah Barber This Indenture Made the Sixth day of November in the year of our Lord, one thousand Eight hundred & four Between Leonard Ferster of the Township of Mahonoy in the County of Northumberland and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and Barbara his wife of the one part, and Sarah Barber of the Township of Augusta in the said County, Widow and Relect of Mathias Barber late of the said Township deceased of the other part Whereas Peter Ferster late of the Township of Mahonoy aforesaid died seized of three several Tracts of Land Situate in the said County Containing, be the same more or less six hundred, and two acres and a half, where of one Tract containing three hundred and Sixteen acresand a quarter and the usual allowance of six per Cent and adjoining Land of Isaac Moyer and others situate on Mahonoy Creek in the said Township of Mahonoy, another of which said three Tracts, adjoining, the last above described Tract and Containing, be the same more or less ninety acres and the usual allowance is situate in the said Township of Mahonoy and the remaining tract of the three aforesaid, containing, be the same more or less, One hundred and ninety six acres and one Quarter, and the usual Allowance of Six P. Cent for Roads and Highways and adjoining, Land of Casper Schneider is Situate about a Mile from the Hallowing Run on the South side of the old Indian Path in Augusta Township aforesaid, To hold to him the said Peter Ferster his Heirs and Assigns forever. And Whereas the said Peter Ferster died Intestate, &afterwards to wit, at an Orphans Court held at Sunbury for the County of Northumberland the twenty fifth Day of November in the year of our Lord, One thousand Eight hundred, upon the Petition of Leonard Ferster eldest Son and heir at Law of the said Peter Ferster praying, the Court to Award an Inquest to make partition of the Real Estate of the said Intestate in the said Petition mentioned to and amongst his Children and Representatives in such manner, and in such portions, as by the laws of this Commonwealth is directed and appointed 47of such partition, could be made without prejudice to or spoiling, the whole, otherwise to value and appraise the same, The Inquest was awarded by the Court according, to the prayer of the said petitioner. Whereupon a writ of partition or valuation issued out of the said Court, bearing, teste the twenty eighth day of November, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred to the Sheriff of the said County directed. Commanding him to Summon an Inquest to make partition of the said Real Estate, to and among the children and Representatives of the said Intestate, according to Law, if such partition could be thereof made, without prejudice to and, spoiling the whole, but if such partition could not be thereof made as aforesaid, then to value and appraise the same, and that partitionor valuation so made, he should distinctly and openly have before the Justices at Sunbury the fourth Monday of January then next, At which day before the Judges aforesaid, the Sheriff of the said County, to wit...
