The surveys, warrants and patents are from the Pennsylvania State Archives #10 1/12/1790, John Levergood, Warrant #241 #11 9/4/1794, John Feight Leveguth, Warrant #457 #12 3/14/1791, John Levergood, Survey C107-293 #13 9/4/1794, John Feight Levegutts, Survey C107-292 #14 Patent 9/2/1799- Patent Book H-13-531 Warantee's were John Livergood and John Feight Leveguth, for 2 different warrants- land that was deeded to John Arbygast 9/2/1799 Final deed date 5/7/1816 #15 Deed to John Levegood 4/5/1799 from John Brown Book L, pg 376 #10 1/12/1790, John Levergood, Warrant #241 Whereas John Levergood of the county of (blank) hath requested to take up, one hundred and fifteen acres of land adjoining John Snyder, Cordwainer (leatherworker) and others in Penns Township in the County of Northumberland (provided the land is not within the last purchase mad of the Indians) for which he agrees to pay, immediately into the office of the receiver general, for the use of this state, at the rate of Ten Pounds per hundred acres in gold, silver, paper money of this state, or certificates; agreeable to an act of assembly, passed the first day of April, 1784: Interest to commence from the date hereof. These are, therefore to authorize and require you to survey, or cause to be surveyed unto the said John Levergood at the place aforesaid according to the method of Townships appointed, the said quantity of acres, if not already surveyed, or appropriated, and to make return thereof into the Secretary's Office, in order for confirmation; for which this shall be your warrant. In witness whereof his excellency Thomas Mifflin Esq. Surveyed the 1st day of March 1791 for John Levergood in pursuance of his warrant bearing date the 12th day of January 1790. Containing one hundred and seventeen acres forty nine perches and allowances of 6%. Survey drawing on map shows this parcel attached to another parcel of land labeled (his other land) which is strange because the warrant lists the two Johns as two different people. #13 9/4/1794, John Feight Levegutts, Survey C107-292 A draught of a tract of land situate in Penn's township in the county of Northumberland. Surveyed the 10th day of April 1795 for John Feight Leveguth in pursuance of his warrant bearing date the 4th day of September 1794. Containing ninety-one acres seventy one perches and allowances of 6%. Survey drawing on map shows this parcel attached to another parcel of land labeled (his other land) which is strange because the warrant lists the two Johns as two different people. #14 Patent 9/2/1799- Patent Book H-13-531, Warantee's were John Livergood and John Feight Leveguth, for 2 different warrants, Part of John Livergoods land that he/they deeded to John Arbygast 9/2/1799, Final deed date 5/7/1816 Know ye, that in consideration of the monies paid by John Livergood and John Feight Levegut for the warrants hereinafter mentioned and of the sum of thirty five dollars and three cents in full since paid by William Arbygast And Catherine Shartzberger a certain tract of land situate in Mahantango township, Union County beginning at a post thence by land of Jacob Hosterman south seven degrees west, one hundred twenty four perches to a black oak south sixty five degrees east one hundred five perches to a post, thence by land of John Snyder south eighty five degrees east, one hundred fifty six perches to a hickory, north fourteen degrees east, forty seven perches to a pine, north nine degrees, west on hundred sixty seven perches to a post, thence by other land south forty three degrees, west ninety perches to a white oak, north sixty degrees, east twenty three perches to a white oak, north seventy degrees west twenty on perches to a chestnut. ? One-degree west one hundred twelve perches to the beginning containing two hundred and eight acres one hundred twenty perches allowance. ? Such said tract of land was surveyed in pursuance of two warrants one dated 1/12/1790 granted to the said John Livergood, the other dated 9/4/1794 granted to the said John Feight Leverguth who by the name of John Livergood by deed dated 9/2/1799 conveyed the above described tract of land to John Arbygast, and William Arbygast. The said John Arbygast is since deceased having first made his last will and testament dated 4/15/1811 wherein he devised one ??iety of said tract of land to the said Catherine Shartzberger To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with the appurtenances unto the said William Arbygast and Catherine Shartzberger and their heirs to the use of them the William Arbygast and Catherine Shartzberger their heirs and assigns forever. Free and clear of all restrictions and reservation as to mines royalties, quit rents, or otherwise, excepting and reserving only the fifth part of all gold and silver ore, for the use of this commonwealth to be delivered to the Pit's mouth clear of all charges. In witness whereof, John Cochran 5/7/1816 #15 Deed to John Levegood 4/5/1799 from John Brown and wife Book L page 376 This indenture made the fifth day of April in the year of our lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety nine between John Brown of the Town of Sunbury in the county of Northumberland and the state of Pennsylvania, blacksmith and Barbara his wife of the one part and John Levergood of the said county, cordwainer (leatherworker) of the other part. Henceforth that the said John Brown, Barbara his wife for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and twenty five pounds lawful money of the state aforesaid to them well and truly in hand paid by the said John Levegood the receipt and payment whereof is hereby acknowledged and the said John Levegood thereof forever acquitted and discharged have granted bargained sold released and confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain sell release assign and confirm unto the said John Levegood his heirs and assigns one certain lot of ground situate on the south side of Hurtleberry Street in the town of Sunbury aforesaid and marked in the General Plan of said town three hundred and four containing in breadth on said street eastward and westward sixty feet and in length northward and southward who hundred and thirty feet bounded northwest by Kurtleberry Street aforesaid. Eastward by **** three hundred and three southbound by Bilberry Alley and westward by Center Alley as by the said recited. It being the same lot of ground which the honorable proprietaries by the their patent bearing date the eight day of March in the year of our lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy five granted unto Abraham Scott who together with Sarah his wife by their indenture bearing date the twenty sixth day of June 1794 did grant and convey the same lot of ground and premises unto John Brown (party in fee simple?). Together with all and singular the buildings, improvements, passages, streets, alleys **rights liberties privileges herediments and assurances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in any wise ascertaining and the reversions remaining rents dues and profits thereof to have and to hold the aforesaid unto the said John Levegood his heirs and assign to the only proper use benefit and behoove of him the said John Levegood his heirs and assigns forever. Subject nevertheless to condition charges rents and encumbrances contained and reserved on the said recited patent. In witness whereof the said parties to these presents have hereunto interchangeably set their hands and seals the day and year first above written- John Brown seal, Barbara X Brown, sealed and delivered in the presence of Conrad Henrich, Martin Withington received the same day the consideration money aforesaid in full per me John Brown. Test. M. Withington, Northumberland county be it remembered that on the twelfth day of April in the year of our lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety nine the said John Brown and Barbara his wife came before me the subscriber one of the justices of the peace for the county aforesaid and acknowledged the foregoing indenture to be their act and deed and desired that as such the same maybe recorded according to law the said Barbara being of full age and me separated and apart and examined from her said husband did declare the she knew the contents thereof and that voluntarily executed and became a party thereto witness my hand and seal the same day year.
