We encourage links to the state and county table of contents. ___________________________________________________ Declaration for an Original Invalid Person On this 29th day of October, 1890 personally appeared Before me a Justice of the Peace within and for the County and state aforesaid James Fitzpatrick, aged 55 years, a resident of Locust Gap, County of Northumberland.....declares he is the identical James Fiztpatrick who was enrolled on the 2nd day of March, 1864, in the Company B of the 7th Regiment of Pennsylvania Volunteers commanded by Capt. Jonas Long and was honorably discharged at Macon, Georgia on the 23rd day of August, 1865, in Company ., Regiment...that his personal description is as follows: age 55 years; height 5 ft 8 inches tall; complexion fair; hair light; eyes blue. That while a member of the organization aforesaid, in the service and in the line of duty at Louisville, KY on or about the latter part of January 1865, he incurred Rheumatism also at Columbus, TN... "On the latter part day of October 1861, he broke his wrist in the following manner: While scouting about forty miles outside of Columbia, TN, we came about a band of Guerillas who fired on us. My horse jammed down in the embankment and knocked me senseless. When I came to my senses, my comrades told me that we both rolled over down the bank. I found that my left wrist was broken from the fall. There was no hospital near at the time, so I got it fixed up the best I could and I was excused from my duty". That he was treated in hospitals as follows: Galatin, Tenn., for rheumatism. James died on July 14, 1902. His widow was Mary (Shortal) Fitzpatrick. She received $17 after having applied numerous times and being rejected. James and Mary were wed on November 25, 1859 at St. Vincent's church in Minersville, PA He left behind the following children: Peter, Katherine, Mary Ellen, Elizabeth, and Bridget.
