Sunbury Gazette, July 2, 1853 Died In this place on Tuesday last, Mr. George HALL, aged about 34 years. In Jackson township, a few weeks ago, Mrs. Rebecca, wife of Nicholas S. DRUMHELLER, aged 31 years. In Zerbe township, on the 21st ult., Mrs. Catharine, widow of the late Lawrence DERR, aged 84 years, 8 months, and 22 days. Married In M’Ewensville on the 13th inst., by the Rev. S. R. BOYER, Mr. Henry STIFF of Jersey city to Miss Jane P. M’WILLIAMS of Delaware township. On the 19th inst., by the same Mr. R. H. SEILER to Miss Margaret Ann BARBER, both of the vicinity of M’Ewensville. RAKER Jackson - Jacob SHAPPEL, John CREASINGER Abatement on State Tax Notice is hereby given to the Taxpayers of Northumberland county that an abatement of five per cent will be allowed on the State Tax assessed for 1853, if paid on or before the day previous the time fixed for the collectors of the several townships to pay over the amount collected to the County Treasurer. The collectors of Sunbury, Cameron, Little Mahanoy, Upper Mahanoy, Rush and Upper Augusta will pay over to the Treasurer on the 20th instant. Those of Lewis, Milton, Turbut, Northumberland, and Point on the 21st instant. Those of Lower Mahanoy, Jackson, Jordan, Zerbe and Coal on the 22nd instant. Those of Delaware, Shamokin, and Lower Augusta on the 23rd instant. Also mackerel, salmon, and herring just received and for sale. Great Revolution in the Dry Goods Business J. F. & I. E. KLINE respectfully announce to their friends and the public in general, that they have taken the old stand in Upper Augusta township, Northumberland county, Pa., formerly occupied by Isaac CAMPBELL & Co., and have just returned from Philadelphia, and opened a new and splendid assortment of spring and summer goods consisting in part of cloths, cassimeires, sattinetts, linens, checks and all kinds of summer wear. Also, a splendid assortment of ladies’ dress goods, calicoes, ginghams, lawns, barege de laines, alpaccas, shawls, &c. Also a fresh supply of groceries of all kinds, hardware, and queensware, drugs, and medicines. Also a large assortment of boots and shoes suitable for men, women and children, hats and caps such as Panama, Straw, Palm-leaf, and other hats. Salt, cheese, &c. Call and see.
