BURR, aged 58 years Married On the 1st of November, by the Rev. Wm. ROTH, Mr. George SNYDER to Miss Martha M., fourth daughter of Rev. J. SHINDEL, all of South Whitehall, Lehigh Co. Proceedings of Conference on the Death of Rev. J. P. SHINDEL Mr. Editor; Will you please give the following preamble and resolutions relative to the death of the Rev. J. P. SHINDEL, Snr., an insertion in your paper? They were presented by the Rev. D. H. BITTLE, at the meeting of the Susquehanna Conference convened in the Lutheran Church of Danville, Nov. 22 and 23, and were unanimously adopted. P. BORN, Sec. of Confer. In as much as it has pleased the Great Head of the Church to call from our midst, and from great usefulness in our Zion, our worthy and most beloved Father, J. P. SHINDEL, therefore Resolved. That we bow with reverence and submission to the wise Providence which has deprived us of the counsel and society of our deceased Father. Resolved. That with great regret and heartfelt sorrow we feel the loss of our Father to the Church, and especially to us who have so often shared in the advice of age and experience imparted by him. Resolved. That we deeply sympathize with the family and large circle of relatives who have been bereaved, and more immediately mourn their loss; yet with a melancholy joy we express our conviction that their and our loss is our good old Father SHINDEL’s eternal gain. Resolved. That a copy of these resolutions be forwarded by the Secretary to the family of the deceased, and also a copy be sent for publication in the Observer and papers of Sunbury.
