Sunbury Gazette, April 9, 1853 Died In Delaware township, on the 17th ult., Mr. Isaac HILLIARD, aged 65 years. In Selinsgrove, on Sunday the 27th inst., Mrs. Louisa, wife of Gideon LEISINRING, and daughter of the Rev. J. P. SHINDEL, aged about 41 years. Married On the 20th ult., by Rev. J. P. HARRIS, Mr. John B. PRICE to Miss Catherine MARTIN (formerly of Northumberland county), all of Minersville. On the 22d ult., by the Rev. S. D. M. CONSER, Mr. Robert LESHER to Miss Sarah VANDLING, both of Northumberland. On the 24th ult., by the Rev. Howard MALCOMB, D.D., Dr. John LOCKE to Mary E., daughter of the late John BOWES, all of Lewisburg. On Monday, March 28th, at John DEEN’s Hotel, Danville, by Rev. James BRADS, Mr. William WALKER to Miss Harriet PAINTON, both of Bloomsburg. On Sunday the 3rd inst., by Wm. B. IRWIN, Esq., Mr. Wm. SCOTT to Miss Mary KRINER, all of Delaware township. In this borough, on Sunday, the 3rd inst. by the Rev. R. A. FISHER, Mr. S. L. KREBS to Miss Sarah DRUCKEMILLER, both of this borough. Large Sales of Coal Lands Messrs. John N. LANE, Samuel PARKE, and James B. LANE, assignees of George HECKERT, have disposed of their coal lands in Northumberland county, Pa., consisting of 2,722 acres, for $235,000. Wm. L. PRIESTLEY North’d March 26, 1853 Notice Is hereby given to those who hold the office of Overseer of the Poor, Supervisors, Collector, Treasurer, &c. for the borough of Sunbury, and will have not yet settled their accounts, that they are to meet a H. DONNELL’s office on Monday, the 18th day of April next, for the purpose of having their accounts audited. By order of the Burgess P. M. SHINDEL, Clerk Notice The partnership heretofore existing under the firm of FORSYTH & PRIESTLEY, was dissolved this day by mutual consent. All persons desirous of settling their accounts can do so with either of the former partners at their respective business stands. North’d, March 26, 1853 Orphans Court Sale In pursuance of an order of the Orphans’ Court of Northumberland county will be exposed to public sale on Saturday the 30th day of April A. D. 1853, on the premises, the following real estate to wit: The individual half part of a certain tract of land situate in Shamokin township, Northumberland county, adjoining lands of Isaac HELL [sic], John RODARMEL, Samuel GRAUL, John T. MERVINE, Christian BAUSCHLAG, Samuel GILGER, the Widow KELLER and others, containing about 26 acres, more or less, (held by the said intestate as tenant in common with Thomas THOMAS), late the estate of Peter SWANK, dec’d. Sale to commence at 2 o’clock P. M. on said day, when the terms of sale will be made known by Daniel SWANK, Adm’r. By Order of the Court, John P. PURCEL, Clerk of the Orphans’ Court, Sunbury, April 9, 1853 Borough Ordinance 1. Be it ordained &c. that from and after the publication of this ordinance, no dog or bitch shall be suffered to run at large in any of the streets, lanes or alleys of the borough of Sunbury, unless he or she shall be securely muzzled by a safe and substantial wire muzzle, sufficient to prevent him or her from biting any person or animal, under a penalty of TEN DOLLARS to be sued for and recovered from the owner of the dog, as debts of like amount are now by law recoverable; one half to the person who sues for the same and the other to the use of the borough. 2. Any dog or bitch found running at large in any of the streets, lanes, or alleys or said borough, unless muzzled as above required, shall be killed; and the Chief Burgess is hereby authorized to draw his warrant on the Treasurer for the sum of FIFTY CENTS in favor of any person who shall make satisfactory proof that he has killed any dog or bitch so running at large unmuzzled.
