SUNBURY GAZETTE, February 5, 1853 Married On the 2nd inst., in St. Matthew's Church, Sunbury, by the Rev. William White MONTGOMERY, Mr. George H. CLAY of Pottsville to Miss Amelia, daughter of the late Judge DONNEL, of Sunbury. In Shamokin township on the 23d ult., by John HOFF, Esq., Mr. Joseph SANDERS to Miss Sarah FISHER, all of that place. On the 11th ult., by the Rev. R. A. FISHER, Mr. Daniel ZIMMERMAN to Miss Elizabeth MENDENHALL, all of Augusta. On the 25th ult., by the same, Mr. Solomon SCHEIB to Miss Mary SEASHOLTZ, both of Augusta. On the 27th ult., by the Rev. John STINE, Mr. Aaron BOGART to Miss Anne Elizabeth CARSON, both of Liberty township, Montour county. On the 20th of Jan., by the Rev. Joseph FRANCE, Mr. Andrew RUNYAN, of Rush township, to Miss Sarah GEARHART, of Danville. Died In Northumberland on the 1st inst., James, only son of Catherine PHILIPS, aged 2 years, 3 months, 16 days. Farewell! my lovely boy, farewell, In heaven I hope we'll meet, And there with holy angels dwell. And rest at Jesus' feet. At LaPorte, Illinois on the 16th ult., Mrs. Nancy TROXEL, wife of Jacob TROXEL, formerly of this county, aged about 60 years. At New Berlin on the 23d ult., Mr. Moses BOWER, aged 79 years, 11 months, and 27 days. Conrad Kershner's Estate Persons who are indebted to the estate of Conrad KERSHNER, late of the borough of Sunbury, Northumberland county, dec'd, or who have accounts to settle with the said estate, are requested to call immediately on the subscriber and make settlement. The accounts due the estate will be collected by due course of law, unless paid in a very short time. J. H. ZIMMERMAN, Adm., Sunbury, Feb. 5, 1853 Orphans' Court Sale In pursuance of an order of the Orphans' Court of Northumberland county, will be exposed to public sale on Wednesday, the 16th day of February next, on the premises, the following real estate to wit: Allotment No. 1 situate in Rush township, adjoining lands of John GEARHART, Wm. GEARHART, Philip KOONS, the Public Road, A. DIMMICK, Geo. GEARHART, John D__ler, Isaac EPHLIN, Joseph POGG and the HALL property. Containing 119 acres and forty-seven perches strict measure, about one-half of which is cleared and the residue is well timbered. Also, Allotment No. 2 , situate as aforesaid, adjoining the land of John GEARHART, other lands of said dec'd John GEARHART, the Public Road, Benjamin GEARHART, William METLER, Geo. GEARHART, John WILL______ leading to Sunbury, Philip KOONS, and Wm. GEARHART. Containing 113 acres strict measure, all in a good state of cultivation, whereon are erected a two Story Frame Dwelling House, large Frame Barn, Wagon house, sheds, Spring-House, &c. Also on said premises are erected a good Tenant House, Small Barn and other necessary out-buildings, also an excellent orchard of choice fruit. Also the other parcel of allotment No. 2, adjoining above described lands of Wm. GEARHART, and allotment No. 1 land of John GEARHART, John WARNTS, and John GEARHART, containing 25 acres strict measure. Also, The undivided half of the undivided fourth part of a tract of coal land situate in Coal township, county aforesaid, containing about 219 acres. Late the estate of Jacob GEARHART, dec'd. JORDAN, Esq., President and his Associates, Judges of the Court of Quarter Sessions of the county of Northumberland: The petition of Geo. S. BURR respectfully showeth that your petitioner is in possession of a commodious house, situated in the Borough of Northumberland, in the house heretofore kept by him, which is well calculated for a Public House of Entertainment, and for the accommodation and entertainment of Strangers and Travelers. That he is well provided with stabling for horses and all conveniences necessary for the entertainment of Strangers and Travelers. He therefore respectfully prays the Court to grant him a license to keep an Inn or public house of entertainment at the place herein named, and will pray &c. To the Judges above mentioned: We the subscribers, residents of the Borough of Northumberland, do hereby certify that Geo. S. BURR, the applicant for the license, is a man of good repute for honesty and temperance, and is well provided with house room and conveniences for the lodging and accommodating of strangers and travelers, and that a Public House there is necessary; they therefore recommend him as a proper person to be licensed to keep a Public House. Exponas to me directed, will be sold by public sale or out-cry, the following property to wit: The undivided half part of a certain lot of ground situate in Upper Broadway, in Upper Milton, in the county of Northumberland, bounded north by Broadway, east by lot of H. and T. WILHELM, south by an alley, and west by a lot occupied by J. B. REED, containing in front 62 feet, and in depth 180 feet, whereon are erected a two story brick and frame tavern house, ice house, stables, &c. Also, The undivided half part of a certain other lot of ground and contiguous to the aforesaid lot, bounded north by Broadway, east by the lot of Samuel T. BROWN, south by an alley, and west by the aforesaid tavern stand, containing 62 feet in front, and 180 feet in depth, whereon are erected three frame shops, wagon shed, stables, &c. Also, All the interest of the deft. in a certain lot of ground, situate in said Upper Milton, bounded north by Pine alley, east by lot of T. S. MACKEY, south by Broadway, and west by lot of Thomas SWENK, containing 62 feet in front, and 180 feet in depth, whereon are erected a two story frame dwelling house, and frame stable. Also, All the interest of the deft. in a certain other lot of ground situate in said Upper Milton bounded north by lot of James P. SANDERSON, east by lot of Samuel HEPBURN, south by an alley, and west by an alley, containing one-fourth of an acre, more or less. Also, All the interest of the deft. in a certain lot of ground situate in said Upper Milton, bounded north by an alley, east by lot of Samuel HEPBURN, south by lot of E. S. TREGO & Co., and west by an alley, containing one-fourth of an acre, more or less. Also, All of a certain half lot of ground situate in said Upper Milton, bounded north by an alley, east by lot of Samuel SHADMAN, south by Walnut street, and west by lot of P. MONTAGUE, containing 31 feet in front, and 180 feet in depth, whereon are erected a two story brick dwelling house, a frame stable, and other out buildings. Seized, taken in execution, and to be sold as the property of Henry WILHELM. (To be sold on March 4, 1853 at 11 o'clock in the forenoon at the house of John M. HUFF in Milton.) Also, A certain tract of ground situate in said Upper Milton, county aforesaid, bounded north by Locust street, east by the canal, south by lot of WHITE and MERVINE, and west by Front street, containing one-fourth of an acre, more or less, whereon are erected a Steam Grist Mill, together with the engine and fixtures annexed, a tenant house, cooper shop, stabling, &c. Seized, taken in execution and to be sold as the property of Montgomery A. SWENEY. (Sold March 5th, at 11 o'clock in the forenoon, at the same place.) Also, By virtue of an order of sale, a certain lot of ground situate in the Borough of Northumberland, in said county, bounded south-west by Queen street, south-east by and alley, north-east by an alley, and north-west by lot No. 175, and known in the general plan of said borough as lot NO. 176, containing in front on Queen street 60 feet, and in depth 240 feet with the appurtenances, late the estate of Wm. TAGGART, dec'd. (To be sold on March1st at 1 o'clock P.M. upon the premises.) Also, The undivided three-fourth part of a certain tract of land situate in Coal township, in the county of Northumberland, adjoining lands of John BOYD, Wm. WILSON, Peter MAURER, Michael KROLL, and Frederick KRAMER, containing 367 acres and ninety perches and allowance, surveyed the 23rd day of October 1794, on a warrant to Mathias ZIMMERMAN dated the 27th day of August 1793.
