He was in his 70th year. Deceased was a son of Zenas SAVIDGE, and was born in Sunbury, Northumberland County. One sister survives, Mrs. Susan BRIGHT of Sunbury. He leaves the following children: S Montgomery; Minnie L., of this town; Emma, the wife of Thomas GREEN, Coucil Bluffs, Iowa. Judge Clarence SAVIDGE, of Sunbury, is a cousin of the deceased, as is also State Senator Simon P. WOLVERTON, of that place. Mr. SAVIDGE was postmaster during Andrew Johnson's administration. The post office at that time was in the Andrew Fenstermacher Building on High street. He was for years agent for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. At one time he was employed by Lyman Beecher, the former dry goods merchant. He was also a tree and shrubbery agent for years. He led a most industrious life and was active up to the time of his sickness. POTTSTOWN DAILY NEWS, Monday 1/24/1904 EDITION: The funeral of William SAVIDGE took place on Saturday from his late residence at 74 N Franklin street. Services were conducted by Rev. William H FORD, pastor of the First M. E. Church, after which intermant was made privately at Mt. Zion cemetery. Pall bearers were Howard LEOPOLD, S.H.FRIDY, J.A.MERRILL and P.C. FRITZ.
