Peter Brown to Peter Piffer Release To all people to whom these presents shall come. Peter Brown of Upper Mahanoy Township in the county of Northumberland and State of Pennsylvania Sends greeting. Know Ye that the said Peter Brown for and in consideration of the sum of thirty dollars to him in hand paid at and before the ensealing and delivery of these presents by Peter Piffer of the same county well and truly paid and the receipt whereof the said Peter Brown doth hereby acknowledge met thereof doth acquit forever and for and in consideration of the above sum of thirty dollars he the said Peter Brown doth hereby assign, transfer, and forever set over and by their presents doth fully and absolutely to all intents and purposes assign, set over, and remise, release, grant and forever quit claim unto the said Peter Piffer, his heirs and assigns, forever all his right, title, interest, claim and demand whatsoever in law or equity of him the said Peter Brown of in and to certain sum of money coming to him the said Peter Brown after his mother's death. Elizabeth*,43 years now the wife of the said Peter Piffer and one of the daughters of Nicholas Wiand, deceased late of Tulpehocken Township, Berks County, of whom the above mentioned legacy came and descended as will appear by the Will of the said Nicholas Wiand (reference) thereunto being him will more fully and at large appear so that neither he the said Peter Brown, his heirs or assigns or any other person for him or them or any of them shall have claim, challenge, or demand of in to or to the said above bequest or legacy, but thereof and thereupon shall be utterly debarred and excluded forever by these presents. In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 23rd day of February 1826. Peter Brown (seal) Sealed and delivered in the presence of (a name in German) ~ I. Personally appeared before me the subscriber, one of the Justices of the Peace in and for said county above named, Peter Brown and acknowledged the above instrument of writing to be his act and deed and desired this to be recorded as such according to law.
