We encourage links to the state and county table of contents. ____________________________________________________________________ Release Barbara Ferster & others to Peter Ferster & Samuel Wagner Left Nov 10, 1846 Know all men by these presents that we Barbara Ferster, widow , and Solomon Dressler and wife Elida and Peter Ferster, guardian for Adam Ferster and Catharina Ferster, children of George Ferster, deceased, and grandchildren of Leonhart Ferster, deceased, and Elizabeth Filips and Jacob Hilbish, guardian for Elias Peiffer, son of George Peiffer and grandson of Leonhart Ferster late of Little Mahanoy Township, Northumberland County, deceased. We have received of and from Peter Ferster & Samuel Wagner, Administrators of the said Leonhart Ferster, deceased, Estate the sum of $1007.04 and all the personal property the widow had received the 1/3 share of all the personal property the full sum of $431.59 Solomon Dressler & wife Elidia having received the full sum of 163.86 George Ferster had received by divers times 36.00 Peter Ferster, guardian for Adam & Catharine Ferster, had rec'd the full sum of 109.86 Elizabeth Filips had received the full sum of 143.36 Maria Peiffer had received by divers times 65.00 Jacob Hilbish, guardian for Elias Peifer, had rec'd of all the personal property the sum of 78.86 in full satisfaction and payment of all such sum or sums of money legacies and bequests as are given and bequeathed the said widow, Barbara Ferster, Solomon Dressler & Elidia his wife, Peter Ferster, guardian for Adam Ferster & Catharine Ferster, children of George Ferster and grandchildren of Leonhart Ferster, deceased. and Elizabeth Filips and Jacob Hilbish, guardian for Elias Peiffer, son of George Peiffer and grandson of Leonhart Ferster, deceased do by these presents release, acquit, and forever discharge the said Peter Ferster and Samuel Wagner, his heirs, accounts, recovery, claims, and demands whatsoever for or by reason thereof or of any other act, matter, cause or thing whatsoever, from the beginning of the world to the day of the date of these presents. In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this 21st day of August in the year of our Lord 1846, AD 1846. Recorded Nov 10, 1846 George Reed (seal) Edward Oyster, Recorder ______________________________________________________- Christiana Ferster dec' Pet. for Inquest The petition of Jesse Hensyl intermarried with Magdalena, one of the daughters of Christiana Ferster dec' Humbly Showeth That the said Christiana lately died intestate leaving issue five children: Lydia married to Peter Peiffer which said Lydia is dead leaving two children, Isaac & Caroline, who have Elias Peiffer for their guardian & also John Peiffer Sr., Leah intermarried with Jonathan Peiffer, Elizabeth intermarried with Samuel Swinehart, and Peter Ferster. That the said Madgalena died seized in her demesne of fee of and in a certain tract of land in Little Mahanoy Township in said county, containing 18 or 19 acres, more or less, adjoining land of Daniel Wagner, Samuel Wagner, & Daniel Dornsife on which are erected a one and 1/2 story dwelling, house, and stable -- The petitioner therefore prays your honor to award an Inquest to make partition and valuation of the said tract of land to and among the heirs and legal representatives of said dec' in such manner and in such proportions as by the law of this Commonwealth is directed. Whereupon August 7, 1848. Read. Inquests awarded. Personal notice of holding inquest to be given to heirs in court 10 days before next term and notice of who in Democratic Union, Harrisburg and to heirs in Illinois. By the Court __________________________________________________________- John Ferster for Inquest The petition of Leonard Ferster, Guardian of Peter Ferster, one of the sons and heirs of John Ferster , late of Little Mahanoy Township in said county. Dec' was transferred to the court, humbly showeth - that the said John Ferster lately died intestate, leaving a widow named Christiana and five children Viz: Elizabeth now the wife of Samuel Swinehart, Leah now the wife of Jonathan Peifer , Lydia now the wife of Peter Peifer, Magdalena a minor over 14 years old who had for her guardian the said Leonard Ferster and as said Peter Ferster. That the said John Ferster deeds seized are his domicile as of fee and a certain tract of land situate in Little Mahanoy Township, containing 100 acres, more or less, adjoining John Swinehart, Leonard Ferster,Daniel Haupt, and Daniel Dornsife , & Daniel Feigley being the mansion farm of said dec'. Also a certain tract of land in said township containing 19 acres, more or less, adjoining Daniel Dornsife, Michael Bobb, on which is erected a log house and stable occupied by Wm. Ferr. Also the one undivided half part of a tract of mountain land containing in the whole 300 acres, more or less, adjoining lands of Michael Bobb, Leonard Ferster, and others, John G. Young and Jno. Young on Mahanoy Mountain. The petitioner therefore prays the court to award an inquest to make partition of the said several tracts of land to and among the heirs and legal representatives of said dec' in such manner and in such proportions as by the laws of the Commonwealth is directed if the same can be done without prejudice to or spoiling the whole thereof, if not then to value and appraise the same and make report herein according to law whereupon November 6, 1838. Petition read and Inquest awarded. By the Court ______________________________________________________________ Release Peter Ferster & Others to Philip Kerstetter Left January 16, 1849 Know all men by their presents that we Peter Ferster, Jonathan Pifer and Leah, his wife late Leah Ferster & Jesse Hensyl and Magdalena, his wife late Magdalena Ferster, John Peifer, and Elias Peifer guardian of Isaac & Caroline Peifer, minor children of Peter Peifer and Lydia his wife late Lydia Ferster both dec' all full heirs of the estate of John Ferster late of Little Mahanoy Township in the county of Northumberland and State of Pennsylvania dec' and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and thirty six dollars and thirty seven and half cents in full to us in hand paid by Philip Kerstetter at and before the ensealing and delivery hereof the receipt whereof we do hereby acknowledge have remised, release, and forever quit claim unto the said Philip Kerstetter and to his heirs and assigns all and all manner of dower and right and title of dower and other interest right or title whatsoever for or in account of our full share of a certain messuage piece or tract of land situate in the Township of Little Mahanoy in the county of Northumberland and containing twenty acres & seventy three perches measure which was appraised to law as the property of the said John Ferster dec' and awarded to Samuel Swinehart and therefore the said Peter Ferster, Jonathan Peifer & Leah, his wife, & Jesse Hensyl & Magdalena, his wife, & John Peifer & Elias Peifer, Guardian of aforesaid do by their presents release, acquit, and forever discharge the said Philip Kerstetter, his heirs, executors, and administrators of and from the said legacy or legacies of & from all actions, suits, payments, accounts, reckoning claims, & demands whatsoever for or by reason thereof. In witness whereof we have hereto set our hands and seals the 13th day of May 1848.
