Died August 18 25-Feb Henry Derrick- American, Miner, 49, M, Burnside, Fall of slate at face of gangway whie preparing to stand a set of timbers 16-Sep Jacob Evanovage- Polish, Miner, 56, M, Cameron, Fall of rock at face of breast 12-Nov Thomas Gebofskie, Russian, Miner, 44, M, Cameron, Found dead at face of breast. The verdict of the Coronor's jury ws that he came to his death by suffocation from white damp produced by a shot that blocked the upcast manyway thereby shutting off the air. 19-May Paul Gristo- Polish, Laborer, 50, M, North Franklin, Killed by fall of coal while robbing gangway 28-Dec Thomas Hague- English, Miner, 38, M, Luke Fidler, A hole missed fire and he was drilling it out when it exploded, lacerating his face and hands. He died in the State Hospital January 2, 1909 31-Aug William J. Jones- Welsh, Miner, 38, M, Corbin, Killed by Rush of coal which caught him at the battery 31-Oct Leo Kopreskie- Polish, Miner, 45, M, Colbert, Leg fractured and body injured internally by fall of coal at working face. He died the same day at State Hospital 2-Nov William Nairns- English, Driver, 38, M, Cameron, Leg bruised between mine cars while taking off the spreader. Died at the State Hospital November 5 28-Jan Simon Petrilco- Russian, Laborer, 38, M, Hickory Ridge, Killed by fall of coal while robbing pillars 10-Nov Thomas Pomacher- Polish, Miner, 43, M, Cameron, Body bruised by falling down manway, Died in State Hospital December 12 24-Sep Thomas Postusle- Polish, Miner, 37, M, Henry Clay, Attempted to get back from some loose coal. Slipped and fell down the shoot. Was operated on at Jefferson Hospital Philidelphia. Died of internal trouble on December 12. 25-Sep William Schich- American, Driver, 20, S, Cameron, Squeezed between a mine car and the face of backswitch tunnel 11-Aug Harry Smith- American, Laborer, 30, S, Hickory Swamp,Fall of coal at face of gangway 7-Oct George Sorovich- Russian, Miner, 40, M, Big Mountain, Injured by fall of coal at working face-died the same day 17-May Michael Sosnoskie- German, Miner, 52, M, Cameron, Caught between top rock and mine car at bottom of slope 5-Feb Michael Swartz- Russian, Coal-Pusher, 23, S, Cameron, Fell into shute 9-Jun Clem Tarser- Slovenian, Miner, 45, M, Hickory Ridge, Body Bruised by fall of coal at face of breast. Died same day 3-Aug Moses Tomlinson- American, Miner, 22, S, North Franklin. Burned by powder. Died August 10 in the State Hospital 4-Jun John Veritskie- Polish, Miner, 45, M, Hickory Swamp, Injured by a rush of culm from the bank which cuaght him against the car. Died June 11 outside 13-Jun Jacob Vesuskie- Polish, Miner, 40, S, Hickory Ridge, Fall of slate at face of breast 2-Nov William Weber- German, Slatepicker, 14, S, Bear Valley, The chute conveying coal to the rolls became blocked. He tried to start it with his foot, instead of using the scraper and was drawn into the rolls. 22-Apr John Williams- English, Miner, 51, M, Stirling, Fall of slate at face of breast 24-Apr Benjamin Withkofskie - Polish, Miner, 19. S, Bear Valley, Fall of rock near right rib of breast while shoveling coal
