The Last Will and Testament of Mathias Bassler of Zerbe Township, Northumberland County and State of Pennsylvania; In the name of God Amen. I Mathias Bassler, considering the uncertainty of this mortal life, and being of sound mind and memory (blessed by Almightly God, for the same) do make and publish this my last will and testament, in manner and form following, viz: First--I give devise and bequeath unto my beloved wife Clophia Barbara, All my property. Real, personal and mixed of what nature or kind soever and wheresoever the same shall or may be at the time of my death for and during her natural life to her own use and if she shall so long remain my widow and not marry (except) such articles as I give hereinafter to my son John Adam Bassler. Second--I give and bequeath to my son John Adam Bassler My horse, the harness, drag waggon and spring waggon, which I give to him for and towards for which he has worked for me since he has been over the age of twenty one years. And further after the death of my beloved wife Clophia Barbara, I give and bequeath also unto my Son John Adam Bassler out of my estate before a divident be made amongst my heirs the sum of one hundred and fifty ($150.00) Dollars which is to be in full for and towards his working for me and my said wife since he has been twenty-one years. And further after the death of my said wife Clophia Barbara, that whatsoever may then be unexpended I give and bequeath to my legal heirs share and share alike their heirs and assigns forever. Lastly, I do hereby appoint my esteemed friend John Binder to be the Executor of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof, I Mathias Bassler the Testator, have to this, my will, written on one sheet of legal cap paper, set my hand and seal this twenty- fourth day of December A.D. One thousand eight hundred and eighty eight. Mathias Bassler (seal) Signed, sealed, published and declared by the above named Mathias Bassler. as for and his last will and testament, in the presense of us, who have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses thereto in the presense of the said testator. Raker Alexander Wagner State of Pennsylvania, County of Northumberland } ss: Be it remembered, that on this Ninth day of January, A.D. 1899, before me the Register for the Probate of Wills and granting of Letters of Administration in and for said County, personally appeared Alexander Wagner one of the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing instrument of writing purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Mathias Bassler late of the Township of Zerbe County and State aforesaid, deceased, who being duly sworn according to the law does declare and say that he was personally present at the execution of the same and saw and heard the testator therein named, sign, seal, publish, pronounce and declare the same as and for his last Will and Testament, and that at the time of so doing he was of sound, disposing mind, memory and understanding to the best of his knowledge and belief, and that he died January 22, 1889. Sworn and subscribed to before me, } Alexander Wagner Frederick Haas, REGISTER } We, the undersigned, who are the only heirs and legatees of Mathias Bassler, late of the Town of Trevorton, in the Township of Zerbe, in the County of Northumberland and State of Pennsylvania, deceased, hereby renounce our right to Letters of Administration e.t.a. upon the estate of said decedent, and respectfully request that the Register of Wills of the County of Northumberland to grand such letters to F.
