I, Caspar Bauer, Sr. of East Buffaloe Township in the County of Northumberland & State of Pennsylvania, being weak in body, but of perfect sound mind and memory, blessed be God for the same, calling unto mind the mortality of my Body do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and Form following: First: I recommend my Soul to Almighty God who gave it, and my body to be buried in decent Christian Burial at the discretion of my Executors, and as touching such worldly Estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me within this Life. I give, devise, and bequeath of the same in manner and form following, First: It is my will that all my lawful debts shall be paid; Secondly: I give and bequeath unto my eldest son, Henry Bauer, the sum of ten pounds to be paid out of my personal estate; Thirdly: I give and bequeath unto my daughter, Margaret Bauer now Margaret Holter, the sum of Fifty pounds, one half of said sum to be paid on the fifteenth May 1796 and the remainder on the 15th May 1797, by my executors, out of my personal estate; Fourthly: I give and bequeath unto my daughter, Susanna, now Susanna Drasler, the sum of Fifty pounds, one half of said sum to be paid on the fifteenth May 1796 and the remainder twenty-five pounds on the 15th May, 1797, out of my personal estate by my executors; Fifthly: I give and bequeath unto my daughter Catharine, now Catharine Sander, the sum of Fifty pounds, one half of said sum to be paid on the 15th May 1796 and the remainder sum of twenty-five pounds on the 15th May, 1797, out of my personal estate by my executors; Sixthly: I give and bequeath unto my daughter Maria, now Maria Flickinger, the sum of Fifty pounds, one half of said Sum to be paid on the fifteenth May 1797 and the remainder sum of twenty-five pounds on the 15th May, 1798, out of my personal estate by my executors; Seventhly: I give and bequeath unto my daughter Barbary, now Barbara Smith, the sum of fifty Pounds one half of said sum to be paid on the 15th May 1797 and the other half on the 15th May, 1798, out of my personal estate by my executors; Eighthly: I give and bequeath unto my daughter Maria Magdalena Bower, the sum of Fifty pounds, one half of said sum to be paid on the 15th May 1797 and the other half on the 15th May, 1798, out of my personal estate by my executors; And as to the remainder of my personal estate, if any, there be after my lawful debts are paid, I give, devise, and bequeath of the same unto the whole of my beforementioned Children to be divided equally among them by my executors. And lastly, I do nominate and appoint my trusty friends, Stephen Duchman and Jacob Metzger, of East Buffaloe Township aforesaid, to be my true and lawful Executors of this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking and disallowing all former Wills & Testaments, hereby ratifying and confirming whatsoever my said Executors shall do in the Premises. In Witness whereof I, the said Caspar Bauer Sr., have hereunto set my Hand & Seal dated the ninth day of July in the Year of our lord one thousand seven hundred ninety four (July 9, 1794). Casper Bauer Seal. Signed, Sealed, published, pronounced, and declared as the last Will and Testament of the aforesaid Casper Bauer Sr. in the presence of us. I further give and bequeath unto my Grand Daughter Mary Hessler, the sum of seven pounds ten Shillings, Pennsylvania Currency, to be paid by my Executors within one year after my Decease. Henry Douty, James Bevard, Valentine Statter Northumberland County. Be it remembered that on the 20th day of August, 1794 before me, John Simpson Esq., Register for the County aforesaid, personally appeared James Breverd and Valentine Statter, two of the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing Will or Instrument of Writing and made oath on the Holy Evangelists of Almighty God that they saw Casper Bauer subscribe with his own had his name to the same, & heard him publish & declare it to be his last Will & Testament, and that they together with Henry Douty, subscribed their names as witnesses to the same. That this happened in the sickness of the said Casper Baur, and that he was at the time of so doing of sound & disposing mind & memory. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand the day and year aforesaid---J Simpson, Registrar. Be it remembered that on the twenty sixth day of August in the year of our Lord 1794 (August 26, 1794) before me was proved and approved the last Will and Testament of the said Casper Bauer, deceased, of which the foregoing record is a true copy and letters of testamentary issued in due and common form of law to Stephen Duchman and Jacob Metzger, Executors therein named, on the same day, witness my hand the same day and year.
