Will of Mary Poyer Wilkinson Campbell April 3, 1875 [transcriber's note: Mary Poyer, d/Joseph was born 1/28/1790 and died 3/13/1877 in Northumberland Co. PA. She married (1) Aaron Wilkinson (1781-1837) and (2) John Campbell (1776-1856)] In the name of God Amen. I, Mary Campbell of the Borough of Snydertown in the County of Northumberland and Sate of Pennsylvania, being of sound mind, memory and understanding, do make this my last will and testament hereby revoking and making void all former wills by me made at any time. Item, 1st, I direct that my body be decently interred in the Methodist Episcopal Cemetery in Irish Valley, Shamokin Township in said county according to the rites and ceremonies of the M.E. Church and my funeral to be conducted in a manner becoming my age and situation in life with as little display as possible. Item, 2nd, I direct my executor hereafter named that as soon after my decease as foreseeable to collect all my money and effects and dispose of the same as follows, to wit: Item, 3rd, I direct that my just debts and funeral expenses be paid out of the first money collected. I desire to have tombstones put to my grave similar to those of my daughter Ruth, and that my household and kitchen furniture to be equally divided among my three daughters namely Elizabeth wife of Hiram Rockefeller, Sarah Jane wife of Wm. F. Roth and my daughter Isabella wife of Wm. Farrow share and ahre alike and all money after paying all debts and expenses to be disposed as follows, to wit. Item, 4th, I give and bequeath to my son Joseph Wilkerson [sic] one hundred dollars. Item, 5th, I give and bequeath to my daughter Susana wife of John Barton or her heirs two hundred dollars. Item, 6th, I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth wife of Hiram Rockefeller two hundred dollars. Item, 7th, I give and bequeath to my daughter Sarah Jane wife of Wm. F. Roth two hundred dollars. Item, 8th, I give and bequeath to my daughter Isabella wife of Wm. Farrow two hundred dollars. Item, 9th, I give and bequeath to my two grandchildren William and Jane Galaspie children of my daughter Margaret two hundred dollars to be equally divided between them share and share alike. Item, 10th, I give and bequeath to my five grandchildren of my son Samuel Wilkersen deceased two hundred dollars, namely Adline, Claria, Sylvania, Artanes and Suvilla, to be equally divided among them share and share alike. Item, 11th, I give and bequeath to my four grandsons Kwiber, John, George and Clinton Farrow of my daughter Mary Ann Farrow, deceased, two hundred dollars to be equally divided between them share and share alike. Item, 12th, But should my executor find after collecting all my money and effects the same will not hold out to pay all of the bequeaths name and expenses he shall deduct from each ones share bequeath equally and if there should be a balance left after paying out the bequeaths, the same shall be equally divided among my children or their heirs share and share alike. Item, 13th, and lastly. I do hereby constitute and appoint my esteemed friend Wm. Farrow of the Borough of Snydertown in the County of Northumberland and State of Pennsylvania my executor of this my last will with full power to carry my desires into effect the same as I could do if living and present. In Witness Whereof, I Mary Campbell the testator have to this my last will written on one sheet of paper set my hand and seal this third day of April A.D. one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five.
