I JOSEPH CHAMBERLIN, Yeoman of Shamokin Township in the County of Northumberland, State of Pennsylvania, Being admonished by old age and infirmity that the days of my earthly pilgramage are rapitly drawing to a close, but being of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, do make and publish this my last will and Testament, hereby revoking all other wills by me heretofore made and declaring this and no other to be my last will and Testament, first and principally I commend my spirit into the hands of God who gave it and my body to the earth to be buried in a decent and christian like manner at the discretion of my executor: As to such worldly Estate as God hath been pleased to bless me with I dispose of the same in the following manner: - I direct all my just debts and funeral expences to be paid by my Executor as soon after my decease as the same can conveniently be done. I empower my Executor as soon after my death as convenient to sell and dispose of my plantation and Tract of land in Shamokin Township, Northumberland County on wich I at present live at public or private Sale and for the best price that can be obtained for the same and to make and execute deed to the purchaser for the same. Should my Executor be unable to procure for my said plantation what in his judgement is sufficient price for the same I order and direct him to rent my said plantation on the best terms he can until the same is sold by him:- I give and bequeath to my son LEMUEL CHAMBERLIN a credit of twenty dollars on the Judgement I hold against him entered on the Prothonotary's Docket in Sunbury and the same to be his whole share of my Estate and the Ballance of said judgment from him is to be collected After payment of my just debts and funeral expence and the expence of settling my estate and giving the above named credit I order and direct the Estate including the proceeds of the sale of my plantation to be divided equally among my Children herein after named to my son LEWIS CHAMBERLIN to my son PETER CHAMBERLIN, to my son CALEB CHAMBERLIN to my son ISAAC CHAMBERLIN and to my Daughter ELIZABETH married to GEORGE FOX, to my daughter SARAH married to REESE WISLER of the State of Wisconsin, to my Daughter MARY married to MALON HULL of the State of Wisconsin to my Daughter ANNA who was married to HENRY ?R?eiser, to my daughter HULDAH married to WILLIAM FURMAN first deducting the amount of the notes I hold against them to my deceased Daughter RACHAEL who was married to ALEXANDER THARP to her three children the same share as if she were living DANIEL HUMMEL wife to have her mothers share the same as if her mother were living share and share alike deducting the amount of the notes I hold against them. I nominate constitute and appoint my son LEWIS CHAMBERLIN to be the Executor of this my will and Testament hereby declaring this and no other to be my will. In witness whereof I JOSEPH CHAMBERLIN the Testator have to this my will set my hand and seal this 8th day of January A.D. 1863. HUMMEL deputy Register & in and for said County DAVID REESER & URIAH SOBER the subscribing witness to the foregoing instrument of writing purporting to be the last will and testament of JOSEPH CHAMBERLIN late of Shamokin township deceased and on their solemn oath did declare and say that they were present and did see and hear the Testator therein named, sign, seal, publish, pronounce and declare the same as and for his last will and testament and at the time of so doing he was of sound disposing mind memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge and belief.
