In the name of God Amen. I, the undersigned, Heinrich Conrath of the State of Pennsylvania, County of Northumberland residing in Lower Augusta Township. Being in good health but considering the uncertainty of life, do make and publish, while yet I am of sound mind, memory and understanding for which I thank God, this my last Will and Testament to wit: Principally and first of all I commend my immortal soul into the hands of my God and to his everlasting mercy and my body to earth to be buried in a decent and christian like manner at the discretion of my Executors herein after named. Further, it is my will, that my wife Eva, shall receive the interest of seven-hundred dollars yearly as long as she lives besides the money that she now has on interest, one bed, one cookstove, and a cow, as many kitchen utensils as she uses or may need. Should the interest be not sufficient then she is to take of the Seven-hundred dollars as much as she needs during her lifetime. After her death what be left over is to go to my children or their proper heirs, as she had promised to do this at the time we were married. As to my other estate which I leave behind, this may consist of buildings and notes, and the rest of my estate that I leave behind, My Executors are to make sale of and turn into cash and all my just debts be paid, whether this be for land or something else. The money left over shall be divided amongst my seven children. Now I will name my seven children, namely, my son Peter, Johannes and my son Heinrich and my daughter Catharina and my daughter Esther and Eva and my daughter Maria. Further it is my will that none of my children shall receive anything until after they become twenty-one years old, for any labor. If should any of my children protest this my will then it be my will that the sum of five dollars be their inheritance. I hereby make and nominate my son Johannes D. Conrath and my son Heinrich Conrath as Executors of this my last Will and Testament and recall any of my prior made wills and testaments. In testamony whereof I have set my hand and seal to this in Upper Augusta Township in the year one thousand eight hundred fifty one, October third. Signed and sealed and declared as the last will and testament, signed Heinrich Conrath by us. (seal) (no signatures on will) Following be a codicil to my above last will and Testament.
