REED, nee CONRAD deceased Be it remembered that I, Martha M. Reed of the Borough of Shamokin, County of Northumberland and State of Pennsylvania, being of sound mind, memory and understanding, do make and publish this my last Will and Testament, both revoking and making void all former wills by me at any time heretofore (?)me imperious(?) I direct all my just debts and funeral expenses to be fully paid and satisfied by my Executor herein after named as soon as can be conveniently done after my decease. Item. I give and bequeath unto my beloved husband Moses Reed, all my household goods, furniture, utensils, wearing apparel and ten (10) dollars in current funds in luei of all interest he may posses (?)under(?) the intestate laws of this Commonwealth as my husband if he shall so (?)ask(?). Item. I give and devise unto my son, Samuel Reed, half of a certain frame (?) house situate in the said Borough of Shamokin now particularly known and designate as the Southern half of that certain (?)messuage(?) or tenement situated at the Western end of a lot numbered seven (7) in Block marked zero (0) in the Borough of Shamokin, County and State aforesaid together with that portion of the half of lot which said tenement is erected extending of the width of said half lot from the Western boundary there of to a line drawn parallel with the Eastern boundary line then at a distance of sixty feet from the same for and during his natural life and for and immediately after his death I give and devise the same unto his children share and share alike their heirs and assigns forever. Item. I give and devise unto my son William M. Reed, the Northern half of a certain messuage or tenement situate on the Western end of lot numbered seven (7) in Block marked zero (0) as the same is marked and designated upon the general lithographed plot or plan of the said Borough of Shamokin in the County and State aforesaid lying adjoining and contiguous to the above mentioned and described real estate together with that portion of the half of said lot on which said tenement is erected extending from the Western boundary line of said lot, of the width of said half lot to a line drawn parallel with the Eastern boundary line of said lot and at a distance of sixty (60) feet from the same for and during the term of his natural life and from and immediately after his death I give and devise the same unto his children share and share alike their heirs and assigns forever. Item. I give and devise unto my daughter Mary Ann, intermarried with George Weary all that certain tenement situate on the Eastern end of lot numbered seven (7) in Block marked zero (0) in the said Borough of Shamokin in the County and State aforesaid together with the entire width of the said lot extending the Eastern boundaryline of said lot to a line drawn parallel with said boundary line across said lot and at a distance of sixty feet therefrom for and immediately after her death I do give and devise the same unto her children share and share alike their heirs and assigns forever. Item. As touching my lot or piece of ground with dwelling and other outbuildings thereon erected known designated and (?) upon the general lithographed plot or plan of the Borough of Shamokin in the County and State aforesaid. I do dispose of the same in manner following, I direct that the same (?) be held in trust by my Executor herein after named, he to pay the net rents and ?income? thereof or so much thereof as may be needed for the education and maintenance of (?) my Grand Daughter Martha Matilda Schlegel of my daughter Mary Ann intermarried with George Wary until she has arrived at the age of fifteen years at which time or in the event of her previous death immediately thereafter, I direct that the said lot or piece of ground with the appurtenances be converted into cash as soon as can be conveniently done and for that purpose I hereby authorize and empower said Executor herein after named to sell and dispose of the same at public or private, the purchaser free from all liability for or on account of the purchase money. The net proceeds of said sale I do dispose of in manner following, to wit. Item. I give and bequeath my daughter intermarried with Caiphus Henninger the sum of five hundred (500) dollars. Item. I give and bequeath unto my son Daniel H. Reed the sum of six hundred (600) dollars. Item. I give and bequeath my Grand Son Charles Benjamin Martz son of my daughter Rosetta intermarried with Caiphus Henninger, the sum of one hundred (100) dollars as soon as he shall arrive at the age of twenty one years. Item. I give and bequeath unto my Grand Daughter Martha Matilda Schlegel, above named, the sum of two hundred (200) dollars to be paid as soon as she arrives at the age of twenty one years. Item. As to rest (?) and remainder of my estate real, personal or mixed, I do give devise and bequeath the same unto any live children above named to wit: Samuel Reed, William M. Reed, Mary Ann intermarried with George Wary, Rosetta intermarried with Caiphus Henninger, and Daniel H. Reed share and share alike, their heirs and assigns forever. Lastly, I do hereby constitute and appoint my friend, Josiah Conrad, to be the Executor of this my Last Will and Testament. In witness whereof Martha M. Reed (?), have to this will entered on two (?) of legal cap paper set my hand the eleventh day of August A. D. 1890 Signed, sealed, published and declared as and for the Last Will and Testament of the person named Martha M. Reed, in presence of us who have hereunto subscribed our names (?) witnesses thereto in the presence of said Testatrix and of each other, ("Lou Daniel" written over erasure on preceding page before signing) The letter "M" in the name of the Testatrix was inserted before signing on the first and last pages). W. J. Ammerman Francis A. Miller Be it remembered that on this 10th day of February A. D. 1891 before me personally appear W. J. Ammerman and Francis A. Miller the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing instrument of writing purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Martha M. Reed late of the Borough of Shamokin County and State aforesaid deceased, who being duly sworn according to law and declare and say that they were personally present at the execution of the same and saw and heard the Will and Testament, and that at the time of so doing she was of sound disposing mind, memory and understanding to the best of knowledge and belief. Sworn and subscribed to before me. Urias Bloom, Register Be it remembered on this 10th day of February A. D. 1891 before me was proved approved and insinuated in due and common form of law the last Will and Testament of Martha M. Reed, late of the Borough of Shamokin County and State aforesaid deceased, who died on the 14th day of January A. D. 1891 and that Letters Testamentary with a copy of the will annexed were granted to Josiah R. Conrad as Executor names in said will. Witness my hand Urias Bloom Register
