Conrad of the Township of Coal in the County of Northumberland and State of Pennsylvania, being of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, do make and publish this my last Will and Testament hereby revoing void any former Will by me at any time heretofore made.-- In premes: I direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses to be fully paid and satisfied by my Executor hereinafter named as soon as conveniently may be after my decease; I also direct that my body be decently interred in the Cemetery of St. Peter's Reformed Church in Ralpho Township; and that headstones suitable to my cosition in life be erectred on my grave. --Item--I give bequeath and devise to my beloved wife Hettie, all of my household furniture, goods, chattels, rights and credits, and all personal property of whatsoever nature or kind the same may be and wheresoever the same may be found within the limits and jurisdiction of the United States of America; and which shall remain after the payment of my just debts and funeral expenses aforesaid; And also all of my real Estate that I am possessed of at the time of my death, for her sole and separate use, if she shall be living at the time of my decease, but if she shall not survive me, or if she shall survive me and remarry, then and in that event it is my will that she take only so much of my estate as she would be entitled to under the intestate laws of this Commonweaalth; and in case she shall not survive me or shall survive me and remarry then and in such case, I do hereby dispose of my property as follows. --Item--I give, bequeath and devise in trust to my Executor hereinafter named all of my effects and real Estate wheresoever situated to have and hold for the uses and trusts following, that is to say, that I do hereby authorize and empower my Executor hereinafter named to sell and dispose of all of my property either at public or private sale as to him shall deem most advantageous and to pay the proceeds of the same after deducting the reasonable and necessary expenses thereof to the persons or their guardians hereinafter named. --Item--It is my will and I direct that my Executor pay out of the proceeds of the sale of my property to my daughter, Hannah Elizabeth Ryon, widow of Timothy Ryon, One Thousand dollars in lawful money, and that my said trustee pay her the interest on the residue or amount added to the above named one thousand dollars to equal one fifth of purchase price of my entire estate: the interest on said residue to be paid to her annually so long as she shall live, and at her demise, it is my will that said residue upon which interest is paid, shall be divided as follows, to wit: divided equally among my grandchildren named, among, Hettie Ryon, Maggie Ryon, William Ryon, Lizzie Ryon, James Ryon and Timothy Ryon, Jr., sons and daughters of my said daughter, Hannah Elizabeth Ryon in equal shares. --Item--I give and bequeath in trust to my Executor hereinafter appointed one- fifth in addition to the one-fifth before mentioned of the purchase price of my entire estate, to be invested by him; and to pay the interest thereon annually to my daughter-in-law Jessie Conrad wife of John W. Conrad, so long as she bears my said son's name, and should he die, the said interest is to be paid to her so long as she shall remain his widow, and upon her death or remarriage, it is my will that the principal above referred to be paid by my trustee to the children of my son John W or their legally appointed guardians share and share alike. --Item--I give and bequeath in trust to my Executor hereinafter named, one fifth in addition to the two fifths above referred to, of the purchase price when sold, of my entire estate to be held in trust and by him to be invested and I direct that he pay the interest thereon annually to my son Jacob M. Conrad for and during his natural life, if he be not married and if he be married, I direct that the income be paid as aforesaid to his wife during her natural life if she shall so long remain his wife or widow, but in the event of her death or remarriage, it is my will that my trustee shall pay the principal to the children of my son, Jacob, or their legally appointed guardian, share and share alike; but in default of issue, then the said principal to revert to the residue and be divided among my children that are living in equal shares and my grand- children herein particulary named or indicated who shall take in equal shares the share of their deceased ancestors. --Item--I give and bequeath one fifth of the proceeds of the sale of my entire Estate to my son Oscar R. Conrad, the same to be paid to him by Executor hereinafter named as soon as the property is converted into money, and in case that he should not survive me then I direct that my Executor invest the above named one fifth and pay the income thereof to his widow Maryetta, so long as she shall live and remain unmarried, but in the event of her re-marriage, then it is my will that the principal shall be paid by my Executor to their issue share and share alike; and in the event of no living issue of their bodies, then the same to revert and become a part of the residue of my Estate; which shall be divided equally among my then living children and the grand-children before named who shall take the share of their ancestor among them, share and share alike. --Item--I give and bequeath unto my daughter Ida Wearon, widow of Thomas Wearon deceased one thousand dollars, in lawful money, and that my said trustee pay her the interest on the residue or amount added to the above named one thousand dollars to equal one fifth of purchase price of my entire estate; the interest on said residue to be paid to her annually so long as she shall live, and at her demise, it is my will that said residue upon which interest is paid, shall be divided among her children, share and share alike. --And lastley (sp), I do hereby nominate, constitue, and appoint my son Oscar R. Conrad of the Township of Shamokin, County of Northumberland and State of Pennsylvania, Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament; And it is my will that my said Executor shall give bond with one or more sufficient securities to be approved of by the Judge of the Orphan's Court of Northumberland County in double the amount of such moneys as shall probably come into his hands by virtue of his said appointment for the faithful application of the same under the provisions of this my last Will and Testament. In Witness Whereof I John H. Conrad have to this my last Will and Testament written on one and a half sheets of legal cap paper, set my hand and seal this ______day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two. Conrad as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who have hereunto subscribed our names at his request as witnesses thereto in the presence of said testator and of each other.-- J. R. Conrad J. F. Reynolds State of Pennsylvania : : ss County of Northumberland : Be it remembered, that on this 14th day of November A.D. 1898 before me personally appeared J. R. Conrad one of the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing instrummment of writing perporting to be the last Will and Testament of John H. Conrad late of the Township of Coal, County and State aforesaid deceased, who being duly sworn according to law does declare and say that he was personally present at the execution of the same and saw and heard the testator therein named, sign, seal, publish, pronounce and declare the same as and for his last Will and Testament, and that at the time of so doing he was of sound, disposing mind, memory and understanding to the best of his knowledge and belief. J. R. Conrad Frederick Haas, Register State of Pennsylvania : : ss County of Northumberland Registers Office November 14, 1898. Then personally appeared J. R. Conrad and George Steele, who being duly sworn according to law, say that they are well acquainted with J. F. Reynolds one of the subscribing witnesses of the foregoing will of John H. Conrad deceased; that they are familiar with his signature, having frequently seen him write his name, as well as other matters; that they have carefully examined the foregoing signature, and verily believe it to be in his own proper handwriting. And that he is in the State of Montana. J. R. Conrad Geo. Steele Sworn and subscribed before me the date above Frederick Haas, Register Be is Remembered That on this 14th day of November A. D. 1898, before me was proved approved and insinuated in due and common form of law the last Will and Testament of John H. Conrad, late of the Township of Coal, County and State aforesaid, deceased, who died on the 31th day of October A.D. 1898. And that Letters Testamentary with a copy of the will annexed_ were granted unto Oscar R. Conrad therein named on the 21st day of November A.D. 1898, he having entered into bond in the sum of ten thousand dollars with William Pensyl and Reuben F.
