In the Name of God, Amen. I Henry Culp of Augusta Township, Northumberland County, being sick and weak in body, but of sound and disparing mind, memory and understanding, for which I desire to be thankful to ALmighty God, do make and publish this my lask Will and Testament. I. It is my will, that as soon after my decease as convenient, my just debts and funeral expenses by paid by my executors, out of my personal estate. II. IT is my will and I order and direct that my Executors retain out of my personal estate the sum of Eight hundred dollars, and place the same in good security at interest, the interest whereof is to be paid to my beloved wife yearly and every year during her natural life, provided she so long remain my widow, and to cease upon her marriage. It is also my will, that my said wife shall have the privilege of occupying my dwelling house, during her natural life, provided she so long remains my widow. I also give and bequeath unto my said wife my case of walnut drawers,--one tin plate stove and the pipe therewith, two beds, bedding and besteads, she to have her choice--two [illegible word], one table, and six chairs, and kitchen furniture to the amount of ten dollars at the appraised value. III. I give and devise unto my said wife, my plantation and tract of land in Augusta Township, adjoining Christian Shiples, to hold until the arrival of my youngest child, to the age of twenty one, and then I give and devise to same to my children share and share alike [illegible phrase]--It is also my will and I do expressly enjoin upon my said wife, and the executors herein after named, the faithful fulfillment of our articles of agreement between my father and myself, respecting the payment of a yearly sum to him and also to my mother, during their joint lives, and during the life of the survivor of them. IV. I give and bequeath unto my son Peter, all my farming utensils, four horses, and my four horse waggons, plus the harness, and waggons harness. V. It is my will and I do order and direct that my said wife shall keep my children in the farms with her, if they are willing to remain, until they respectively arrive to the age of twenty one years, and maintain them--provided they assist in the necessary and proper labors required on the farm. VI. IT is my will that the balance of my personal property not herein before disposed of, after my just debts and funeral expenses are paid, by sold by my executors, and the proceeds thereof be equally divided among all my children share and share alike. The shares of those that are minors to be put into interest my Executors, for their benefit until they respectively arrive to the age of twenty one. VII. It is my will that the sum of eight hundred dollars, bequeathed to my wife during her natural life, or so long as she remains my widow, upon her death or marriage, be equally divided among my children. VIII. It is my will, that in case my wife should marry before the arrival of my youngest child to the age of twenty one years, the devise of the plantation to her in the third item of my will, shall cease, and the said plantation and tract of land shall in that event belong to my children, in equal shares [illegible phrase]. IX. I do appoint my father Conrad Culp, and my friend Abraham Sterner of Turbot Township, to be the executors of this my last will and Testament. Witness my hand and seal, August 31, 1833.
