In the name of God Amen, I Adam Howerter of Upper Mahanoy township in the County of Northumberland State of Pennsylvania, farmer, being in perfect health of body an dof sound mind, memory and understanding, but considering the uncertainty of this transitory life, do make and publish this my last will and testament, in manner and form following, to wit. First it is my will, and I do order, that all my just debts and funeral expenses be duly paid and satisfied as soon as conveniently can be after my decease. Item, I give and bequeath unto my dear wife Catherine the use of all my real and personal estate after my just debts and funeral expenses are paid, During her natural life, if she shall so long remain my widow; and from or after the decease of my said wife I give and Bequeath the whole of my Personal estate unto John Moyer of Upper Mahanoy Township afore-said-joiner; Item, I give and bequeath the whole of my Real estate being my plantation in Upper Mahanoy Township afore-said whereon I now reside unto John Moyer aforesaid, to him the said John Moyer his heirs and assigns forever; and the said John Moyer shall have possession of my said plantation immediately after the decease of my said wife; he the said John Moyer paying there out and there from; two grave stones of marbel for my grave; and two grave stones of marbel for my wife's grave, procure the said stones, and see them properly placed to our graves; And in case my said wife Catherine shall, after my decease, marry again, from that time forward she shall have no further use or benefit of my real or personal estate; other than what she may be entitled to by the laws of Pennsylvania, and in that case the said John Moyer shall immediately take possession of all the rest or remainder of my real and personal estate, not legally belonging to my said wife--And it is further my will that the said John Moyerr shall give particular attention to my funeral, as also to my wife's funeral so that we may both be decently buried; And lastly, I nominate, constitute and appoint my trusty and beloved friend, the aforesaid John Moyer-Joiner to be the Executor of this my last will, hereby revoking all other wills, legacies and bequests, by me heretofore made, and declaring this, and no other, to be my last will and testament. Signed, Sealed and Declared, } by the said testator, as his } Adam Howerter (seal) last will and testament, in } the presense of us. } John Bloom Samuel Bloom Northumberland County ss: Be it remembered that on the 20th day of February A.D. 1847 personally came William Bloom and Jacob Bloom, before me Edward Oyster Register of Wills etc. in and for said County, and being duly sworn according to law, so say that they were well acquainted with John Bloom and Samuel Bloom Bloom the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing instrument of writing purporting to be the last will of Adam Howerter late of Upper Mahanoy township of said County, deceased, that they often seen them write and are acquainted their hand writing and signature, and that they verily believe that the names John Bloom & Samuel Bloom to the foregoing instrument of writing to be their genuine hand writing.
