In the Name of God, Amen. I Valentine Miller of the township of Augusta County of Northumberland and State of Pennsylvania, Wheelright, Being in Perfect Health of body, and of sound mind, memory and understanding (Blessed be God for the Same) but Considering the uncertainty of this transitory life do make and Publish this my Last Will and Testament, in manner following to wit, Principally, and first of all, I commend my Immortal Soul into the hands of God, who gave it, and my body to the Earth, to be buried in a decent and Christian-like manner, at the discretion of my Executors herein after named; and as to Such worldly Estate, wherewith it has Pleased God to bless me in this life, I give and dispose of the same in the following manner, to wit: First of all it is my will, and I do order, that all my just debts and funeral expenses be duly and satisfied as soon as conveniently can be after my decease. ITEM, I give and bequeath unto my Eldest daughter Mary Savage the Sum of one hundred and fifty Pounds to be Paid one year after my death; ITEM, I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Bartholomew the Sum of one hundred and fifty Pounds, to be Paid one year after my death; ITEM, I give and bequeath unto my Son Henry Miller the whole of My two adjoining tracts of Land whereon the Said Henry and myself now liveth; containing on hundred and thirty five acres and a half & allowance to be valued at four hundred and thirty five Pounds to be Paid as follow to wit; one hundred and fifty Pounds part thereof and first Payment one year after my death; (which said one hundred and fifty Pounds I give unto my Said Son Henry at the time Said first Payment comes due) and Seventy five Pound more thereof to be Paid on the day that my Grand Son William Miller (Son of My Son John Miller deceased) shall arrive at the age of Twenty one years, which Said Sum of Seventy five Pounds I give and bequeath unto my Said Grand Son William Miller, to be Paid to him the Said William Miller on the day he the said William arrives at the age of Twenty One years; and Seventy five Pounds more thereof on the day that My Grand daughter Elizabeth Miller (daughter of my Son John Miller deceased) shall arrive at the age of Twenty one years, which said sum of Seventy five Pounds I give and bequeath to Said Grand daughter Elizabeth to be paid to her on the day she shall arrive at the age of Twenty one years; and the Remaining one hundred and twenty five Pounds to be paid as may be necessary to pay to my heirs their proper shares of my yet unappropriated Estate, the not to be demand of him the said Henry until one years relaps after my death; and if my aforesaid Grand children William and Elizabeth Miller; one or both should Dye or Cease to be before they arrive to the age to Twenty one years, then the Said Legasees or Legasee, shall fall back to my Estate, and be equally divided amongst my three children Namely Mary, Elizabeth and Henry; And I do hereby authorize and Empower my Executors herein after Named, or the Survivor of them, to sign, seal, execute and acknowledge all such deed or deeds of conveyance as may be requisite and necessary for the granting and assuring the same to my said Son Henry Miller, in fee simple; which said deed shall be executed and delivered unto the Said Henry Miller one year after my death; and on his receiving the deed he the said Henry shall give bail or mortgage (as he shall choose) for the securing of the remainder of the Purchase money; And as touching all the Rest Residue and Remainder of my Estate, real and Personal, of what Kind or Nature so ever the same may be, in the County Northumberland aforesaid or Elsewhere, I Give and Devise the same unto my three children--, Mary, Elizabeth and Henry to be Equally divide amongst the said Three or their heirs; to be paid in manner following, to wit: one third part thereof to be Paid (one year after my Death) to my Eldest daughter Mary; and one other third Part thereof to be Paid (two years after my Death) to my second daughter Elizabeth; and the Last third Part thereof to be Paid (three years after my Death) to my Son Henry; A Lastly, I nominate, Constitute and appoint my Said Son Henry Miller, and my Son in law William Bartholomew, to be the Executors of this my Last will, Hereby Revoking all other wills, by me made, and Declaring this my last will and testament; In witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this Twenty third day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight Hundred and Eight. Samuel Bloom Conrad Raker * * * * * * * * * * Northumberland County, ss: Be it remembered that on the fifteenth Day of November A.D. 1824 Before me Eli Diemer Register for the County aforesaid Personally appeared Samuel Bloom and Conrad Raker the two Subscribing Witnesses to the foregoing will who being duly sworn according to law saith that they were personally present and did see Valentine Miller the Testator sign Seal and Declare the foregoing writing to be his last will & Testament and that at the time of so doing he was of sound and disposing mind and memory as the deponents do believe according to the best of their knowledge and understanding that the deponents respectively wrote their names as witnesses in the presence of each other and in the presence of Testator and further say not.
