We encourage links to the state and county table of contents. ______________________________________________________________ Mary Murray Will Northumberland County February 20, 1801 In the name of God Amen, I Mary Murray of Chillique Township, Northumberland County & State of Pennsylvania, yeomen, being sick and weak in body, but of sound mind, memory and understanding (blessed by God for same) but considering the uncertainty of this transitory life, do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following, viz. Principally and first of all, I commence my Immortal Soul into the hands of God who gave it to me, and my body to the Earth, to be buried in a decent and Christian manner, at the discretion and my Executor herein after named and as to such Worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life, I give and dispose of the same in the following manner, viz. I give and devise to my brother Thomas, the land willed to me by my father to be valued and after all expenses is paid to pay to Jean McMahan one third part of said remainder. I further unto Jean a suit of clothes out of the price of my (cov) with one stand and one callico quilt there. The remainder of the (cov) to go in buying Bibles which I allow my brother Thomas to buy one to each of my brothers and sisters children now living. I further give and devise to my sister Ann Rezoner, my bureau with one flannel bead quilt. I give to Peggy McMahan my saddle cloak bonnet, one light calico gown peeticoat and all the wool to be divided betwixt her and Polly Logan. I further give and devise to Polly Murray my bed bolster and pillows, one double coverlet, one smoothing iron. I give and devise to Hannah McMahan one flannel quilt, one pair of blankets, all my cupboardware. I give and devise unto John F. Murray my horse by paying John M. Reizenor the one-fourth part of the price of him; Mary McMahan, my sister’s daughter, one fine sheet, one small ? and table. I give to be divided betwixt Jean McMahan, Ann Reiznor and Charity Murray all the personel property left me by my father. And lastly nominate, constitute and appoint Uncle William Murray and my brother Thomas Murray to be the Executors of this my last will, hereby revoking all other wills, legacies bequests by me heretofore made, and declaring that this and no other to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have herewith set my hand and seal this 19th day of December in the year of our Lord, 1800, Mary Murray, signed, sealed published and declared by the said testator as her last will and testament in the presence of us, who in her presence and at her request has subscribed as witnesses - William Murray, Thomas Murray- Northumberland County. So be it remembered that on the 20th day of February in the year of our Lord, 1801 before me one Jeremiah Simpson, Esq. register for the county aforesaid personally appeared William Murray and Thomas Murray, the two subscribing witnesses to the will who being duly sworn according to law saith that they were personally present to see Mary Murray the testatrix sign, (by making her mark) seal and declare within writing to be her last will and testament, and that at the time of her so publishing the said will he was of sound mind and memory, as the desponents do believe according to the best of their knowledge and understanding – that the desponents respectively wrote their names as witnesses in the presence of each other. Be it remembered that on the 20th day of February in the year of our Lord 1801, before proved and approved the last will and testament of the said Mary Murray, deceased, of which the foregoing record is a true copy.
