John Adam Rebuck's Will, 1835 In the name of God Amen. I John Adam Rebuck of the Township of Upper Mahanoy in the county of Northumberland and State of Penna., Yeoman, being of sound and disposing Mind, memory and understanding, do make and declare this my last will and testament. I recommend my soul to God and my body to the earth to be decently interned, as my executors shall direct, in humble hope of a glorious resurrection and an happy admission into the regions of immortal bliss, glory in and through the merits of my mediator and redeemer Christ Jesus. And as such worldly estate wherewith God hath blessed me, I do give, divise and dispose of the same in manner following to wit: Imprimis, It is my will and I do order and direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid of and discharged as soon as conveniently may be done after my decease. Item, it is my will and I do hereby ordain and direct that the whole of my estate, real, personal and missed which may be left after my decease shall be equally divided to and among all my children to wit John Rebuck, Adam Rebuck, Conrad Rebuck, Henry Rebuck, Peter Rebuck, Michael Rebuck, Maria Rebuck, the wife of Jacob Rovenhover, Frederick Rebuck, Godfried Rebuck, Jonas Rebuck and Lenhart Raybuck, or to their legal representatives, of such of them who are then dead, share and share alike. And lastly I do hereby nominate, constitute and appoint my sons John Rebuck and Godfried Rebuck to be my executors of this my last will and testament, granting unto them or to the survivor of them, power to sign, seal and deliver a lawful deed for my real estate unto the purchaser or purchasers full as good and valid in law as if I had done the same myself, hereby declaring null and void all former will or wills, testament or testaments by me heretofore made, declaring this and no other to be and contain my last will and testament. In witness whereof, I, John Adam Rebuck, have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty-eighth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand, eight hundred and thirty one. 1831. Signed, sealed, published and declared by the testator Jn. Adam Rebuck in the presence of us at and for his last will and testament and at his request have subscribed our names as witnesses hereto. (John Adam signed his will with an 'X' not being able to read or write. The will was entered for probate on June 23, 1835).
