I Philip Runkel of the Township of Upper Mahanoy, County of Northumberland and State of Pennsylvania, being of sound memory and understanding, do make and publish this my last will and testament, hereby revoking and making void all former wills heretofor made by me. And as to such worldly goods as it has pleased God to intrust me with, I dispose of the same as follows. 1st. I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Susanna all my personal Property as long as she lives with the exception of one Judgment note due to me by John Fetter which will be mentioned and disected by me hereinafter. 2nd. My wife Susanna shall pay my just debts out of my Personal property such as Funeral Expenses and medicine and medical aid. 3rd. I direct that after the death of my wife Susanna my real [and] Personal property shall be sold at Public sale by my Executors and be converted into Money and after paying my Just debts, the balance shall be Equally divided among my children and my first wife Sophia's child and in case my personal property shall not reach to pay my debts then John Fetter shall pay the balance to my Executor out of a certain judgment note due to me. 4th. I direct that my Sister Rebecka shall be kept upon my late residence when Sick and when well as long as she lives for her interest in a certain tract of land which I sold to John Fetter. 5th. I direct John Fetter to pay to my children Equal shares of all the money he owes me with the Exception of my first wife Sophia's child namely (William) he shall deduct one Hundred Dollars and divide it Equally between the rest of my heirs this he must do one year after the death of my wife Susanna. 6th. I direct that the share or amount thereof that will come to my Daughter Catharine shall stay in a certain tract of land which I sold to John Fetter as long as she can provide a living for her self and if she will be unable to provide a living for herself this amount shall be paid to provide for her and John Fetter shall pay to her the interest annually of the amount after the death of my wife Susanna. 7th. And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint Adam Ferster Executor of this my last will and testament in witness whereof I the said Philip Runkel have to this my last will set my hand and seal this Seventh day of March A.D. 1879. I Adam Ferster do swear that as executor of the foregoing last Will and Testament of Philip Runkel deceased I will well and truly administer the goods and chattels, rights and credits of said decease, agreeably to law, and that I will comply with the provisions of the law relating to collateral inheritances.
