Nicholas Wolf's Will, 1848 In the name of God, Amen, I Nicholaus Wolf of Lower Augusta Township, Northumberland County, being weak in body but of sound and disposing memory and understanding, for which I thank God, do make and put__ this my last Will and Testament. First, I order and direct my Executor hereinafter named, to pay off and discharge all my just debts andfuneral Expenses, and Expenses t o settle my Estate. 2d To my wife Magdalena Wolf I give and bequeath the farm on which I now live in Lower Augusta Township in said County, for the term during her natural life, that she is to have all the benefit, what is arising from the same till her deceased, by paying the taxes, for the same what may be assessed on the land. 3d It is my will that my son George Wolf shall live on the farm with his mother during her natural life and have his boarding and clothing from his mother. 4th And after my wife's decease, It is my will and I order and direct my Executors hereinafter named, to dispose of my Real and personal Estate or make sale of the same for the best price that can be gotten for thesame, and to the best advantage for my Estate, and I hereby Empowermy Executor hereinafter named to Execute and deliver Good and Sufficient deeds of Conveyance for the same to be purchaser or purchasers thereof. 5th To my wife Magdalene Wolf, I give and bequeath as much of the house_ goods as she may want for her own use, Beds, Beddings, Stoves and pipes and all other Kitchen, and Household furniture what she may take, and also one cow, two hogs, and three sheep for her use. 6th It is my will, and I order and direct that all money arising from my Real and personal Estate, including bonds, notes, and Book accounts, after payment of my just Debts and Expenses, first I order my Executor after the sale of my Real Estate to put three hundred dollars on Interest for the use of my son George Wolf, by the Guardian after named for my son George Wolf, shall pay such sums as is necessary for to maintain him if it is needed, and the remainder shall be equally divided among the following named children, share and share alike, viz their Heirs and assigns. Abraham Wolf, John Wolf, Henry Wolf, Joel Wolf, Thomas Wolf, the children of my daughter Catharine intermarried to Isaac Stephens, formerly Wolf, to my Daughter Maria intermarried to Nihamiah Bacon, to my daughter Elizabeth intermarried to Wm Bartholimew, to my daughter Hannah intermarried to Daniel Conrad, to my daughter Christiana intermarried to John Krisinger. I give to my son George Wolf one Bed and Bedding and one chest and further I nominate constitute and appoint my son Joel Wolf, Guardian for my son George Wolf, and lastlyI appoint my son John Wolf to be the executor of this my last Will and Testament and I revoke all Wills and Testaments by me herertofore made.
