West Chester, Pa March 15th 1867 Wm T Forsyth, Esq Northumberland, Pa Dear Sir, Your note of the 13th inst inviting me to attend the "Golden Wedding" of your Father and Mother on Wednesday 20th instant at 7 o'clock in the evening is received. It would afford me much pleasure to be present to witness the Patriarchal Pair in renewing their vow to each other, to continue to live together happily and I hope they may not be separated by death until after they can celebrate their Diamond Wedding. It is not often that man and his wife have such a long and uninterrupted married life together. I am several years their junior and have nearly arrived at that age which the Psalmist has mentioned as the duration of Man's life and I feel age and infirmity of body pretty severely and therefore am admonished to keep near home and visit but little. Your father is the nearest friend now living of my departed fagther and I take great pleasure in sending to him and the partner of his bosom a small token of my rememberance on the fiftieth anniversary of their marriage. They will receive the enclosed five-dollar gold cupon as such from the subscriber their old friend. Hoping that each of them and their friends assembled will have a pleasant evening. My son Richard will copy this. I am with much respect. Your friend very truly, David McConkey
