By the Court McIntire. [Beginning of page] To the Honorable, the Judges of the Orphans Court of the County of Pery. The petition of Charles Wright, Administrator of all and singular, the goods and chattels, rights and credits, which were of Daniel Harman, late of the township of Greenwood in the said county, yeoman, deceased, at the time of his death, who died intestate, humbly showeth: That the said Intestate left a widow, named Hannah and issue six children, to wit. Ann Eliza, Margaret Ann, Lavina, William, Charles and Jacob, all of whom are minors and have for their guardian John Wright. That the personal estate of said intestate is insufficient for the payment of his debts, as by the account herewith produced appears; and that the said intestate died, seized in his demesne of fee; of in and, in a certain messuage or tract of land adjoining lands of Jacob Leas, Henry Harman, Nicholas Wertz, and others, containing Thirty-three acres and one hundred and seventeen perches, situated in the township of Greenwood and county aforesaid. Your petitioner therefore prays your Honors to grant him an order to make sale of the messuage &c. with the appurtenances, for the payment of debts and the maintenance and education of the minor children of the said Intestate. And he will pray, Charles Wright (signed) [end of this page] [beginning of page] A true and perfect inventory and conscionable appraisement of the personal estate whatsoever of Daniel Harman, late of Greenwood Township, Perry County, dec. Amount of Inventory, as filed in the Register's Office---- $80.82 A full and correct statement of all the real Estate of said Intestate, wheresoever situate, which have come to the knowledge of the Administrator viz. A tract of land situate in the township of Greenwood, Perry County, containing Thirty-three acres and one hundred and seventeen perches, adjoining lands of Jacob Leas, Henry Harman, Nicholas Wertz & others, about eighteen acres of which are cleared, having thereon a two story and one half Log house and barn. Said property is valued at $500. [End of this page] [Beginning of page] Perry County SS At an Orphans' Court, held at Bloomfield, in and for the County of Perry, on the 31st day of October A.D. 1848, before the Honorable Samuel Hepburn President and John Junkin and George Blattenberger Esqs., associate Judges of the same Court, the following proceedings, inter alia, were had, to wit. Octobe 31st, 1848. The petition of Charles Wright administrator of all and singular the goods and chattels rights and credits of Daniel Harman, late of Greenwood townships, county aforesaid, deceased, was presented to the said Court, setting forth, that the said intestate died leaving a widow, named Hannah, and issue six children to wit: Ann Eliza, Margaret Ann, Lavina, William, Charles and Jacob, all of whom are minors and have for their guardian John Wright. That the personal estate of said intestate is insufficient to pay his debts and maintain and educate his minor children, as appears by the account, inventory, and appraisement filed with the said petition, and praying the court to grant an order for the sale of the said real estate, for the payments of the debts and maintenance and education of said minor children (he having given bond with sufficient security.) Whereupon the Court, upon due consideration of the premises aforesaid, do hereby order and decree, that he said Charles Wright, administrator as aforesaid, do expose to sale, by public vendue, on the premises on the 23rd day of December A.D. 1848, the following [end of page] [beginning of page] real Estate of the said Intestate, to wit. Thirty-three acres and one hundred and seventeen perches, situate in the township of Greenwood, and county of Perry, adjoining lands of Jacob Leas, Henry Harman, Nicholas Wertz and others and that he sell the same, for the highest price that can be obtained therefore, on the following conditions, to wit. one half of the purchase money, to be paid on the cofirmation of the sale; the residue in two equal annual payments, with interest to be secured by judgment bonds. That before such sale is so made, that the said Charles Wright cause notice of said sale, at least twenty days before the day appointed therefor, by adverisment in the "Perry County Democrat" published in said County and also by written or printed hand-bills, placed in the vicinity of said property, describing the same and the time and place of sale &c. and that the said administrators make a return of his proceedings herein, to the next stated Orphans Court. [End of this page] [Beginning of page] To the Honorable, the Judges of the Orphans Court of Perry County The petition of Charles Wright respectfully represents that under and by virtue of the annexed order of sale issuing out of your honorable Court, having first given due and timely public notice, as in said order stated, he did at the time and place in said order mentioned expose the real estate in said order more fully described to public sale at auction, on the conditions prescribed, whereupon James Wright became the purchaser for the price or sum of Five hundred and ten dollars, he being the highest and best bidder and that the highest and best price bidden for the same. Whereupon your petitioner prays your Honor to confirm the said sale.
