Order of Sale of Real Estate, To Jacob Wentz, Adm. 28 October 1878 Perry County SS At an adjourned Orphan's Court held at Bloomfield, Pa., in and for the County on the 24th day of March AD 1878, before the Hon. B. F. __ King President Judges and John Bear and Samuel Noss associate Judges, the following proceedings among others were ___ to wit: The petition of Henry Wentz; Geo. W. Wentz; Wm. Wentz; Jacob Wentz; Joseph Wentz; Diana Trostle, formerly Diana Wentz; Sarah Shreffler, formerly Sarah Wentz; Elizabeth Kleckner, formerly Elizabeth Wentz; of Jackson Township, Perry Co., Pa; Margaret Bailor, formerly Margaret Wentz, of Juniata township; Catharine Wentz of Blain; Mary Ann Ernest, formerly Mary Ann Wentz; of Madison township; Matilda Watson, formerly Matilda Wentz of Newport; and Lydia Ann Lupfer, formerly Lydia Ann Wentz, of Blain, Perry County, Pa. all Brothers and Sisters and heirs at law of John Wentz, late of the Borough of Blain, Perry Co., Pa., deceased, was presented to the Court Representing as follows, to wit: That the said John Wentz, on or about Thursday the 28th day of February, 1878 died intestate, unmarried and without issue and seized in his demesne as of fee of and in certain real estate to wit: A lot of Ground situate in the Borough of Blain aforesaid, being lot No. (blank) in the general plan of said Borough, having thereon erected a one story stone building now in use as a shoe-maker shop and bounded on North by lands of John Kern; on the East by Main Street; on the South by the Lutheran and German Reformed Church; and on the West by the said Lutheran and German Reformed Church. That letters of administration were in due form of law granted by the Register of Wills of Perry County, on the 11th day of March 1878, to Jacob Wentz, upon the estate of the said John Wentz, deceased. That the said tract of land is valued at less than one thousand dollars, and that the petitioners desire the same to be converted into money for distribution; therefore, they pray the Court to award an order of Sale to the said Jacob Wentz, administrator of John Wentz, deceased, to sell the said above mentioned real estate upon such terms and considerations as to the Court may seem meet. in accordance with the provisions of the act of General Assembly passed the 14th day of May, 1874. And now to wit: 21st March, 1878 upon due consideration the Court do order and decree that an order of Sale issue to Jacob Wentz administrator of John Wentz, dec'd. to sell the hereinabove described lot of ground, upon the following terms and conditions to wit: That after advertising the same according to law, he expose the same to Sale by public out cry on the (blank) day of (blank) AD 1878 with power to adjourn the Sale over to another day if circumstances should warrant such adjournment. Ten per cent of the purchase money to be paid when the property is stricken down; one-half the balance to be paid on the 1st day of April, 1879 and the remaining one half on the 1st day of April, 1880 to be Secured by Judgment bonds and bear interest from the date of confirmation of sale. By the Court. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the Seal of the Orphans Court at Bloomfield Pa this 24 day of March AD 1878 Geo S. Briner, Clk O Ct To the Hon. the Judges of the Orphans Court of Perry County, Pa. The undersigned administrator of John Wentz deceased makes return to the within order of sale. That after having advertised the same according ___ he exposed it to public sale on Saturday 7th September but did not then sell it, and again exposed it to sale by public outcry on the 19th day of October, 1878 and sold the real estate within named to William Wentz at and for the sum of Three hundred & Forty-five dollars he being the highest and best bidder and that being the highest and best price bidden for the same. He therefore prays your honors to confirm said sale & he will ever pray &c.
