The home of Mr. And Mrs. H. Meikleham, Lindale, Ga." The mother and prospective bride were former residents of this place. (Note: may be Mrs. Junkin, smudge on the word) ======= Letters testamentary on estate of Mrs. Anna Smith, late of Rye township, Perry Co., Pa., dec'd, have been issued to Dr. John A. Sheibley, of Shermansdale; letters of administration on estate of John Baer, dec'd, late of Carroll township, to Jas. M. Baer, of same township. Also: Nov. 12, Saturday, Dr. J. A. Sheibley, Executor of Mrs. Anna Smith, will sell at her late residence, in Rye township, household and kitchen furniture, etc. Sale at 1 p.m. ======= Peter Bair, of Buffalo township, was taken to the asylum at Harrisburg Saturday. ======= Death of Mary Crist. Mary Crist, daughter of the late Daniel and Mary (Bistline) Crist, died at her home in Juniata township, near Markelville, Oct, 27, 1904, of old age. She was born Nov. 27, 1824, and was consequently aged 79 years and 11 months. Deceased is survived by an aged brother, Daniel Crist, who is in failing health, the remainder of the family having preceded her to the spirit world. She was an aunt of the Rev. George Crist, a former resident of near this place, now pastor of the Lutheran church of Millersville, Pa. Dec. __ 1843, Miss Crist united with the Lutheran church at Markelville, being confirmed by the sainted Rev. John Wm. Heim, and remained a consistent member all her life. Funeral services were held in the Markelville Lutheran church Saturday morning at 11 o'clock, her pastor, Rev. C. M. Nicholas, officiating. Interment in the Markelville cemetery. ======= New Buffalo Items. Mrs. Ester Huggins, widow of Isaac Huggins, died at her home in Watts township, on the 26th inst, aged 62 years, 7 months and 21 days. She had been ill for several weeks, but her condition was so much improved on Tuesday last as to give her family hope for her recovery, but during the night her daughter- in-law, aroused by her labored breathing, went to her bedside and found her unconscious in which condition she passed away about 1 o'clock Wednesday morning. Deceased was for many years a resident of Watts township, and was highly respected by all who knew her for her devotion to her family and kind and generous disposition as a neighbor. She had been almost a life long member of the United Brethren church and was among the most consistent and foremost workers in the church of her choice. Her husband died Oct. 27, 1898, and she is survived by the following children: John, Walter, Blaine and Mrs. Joseph H. Hammaker, of Watts township; Joseph and William, of Harrisburg; Elmer, of Steelton; Charles and Mrs. Jacob Howe, of Buffalo township; Mrs. A. Hammaker, Newport; Logan, of Millerstown, and Miss Lottie, of Pittsburg. Interment in Hill cemetery on Friday where impressive religious services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. Sparks. The pallbearers were N. C. Lloyd, A. B. Clemson, J. W. Ulsh, Sr., J. E. Roush, D. A. Miller and Wm. H. Jackson. ======= B. L. Dunkelberger and family and David Bolze and wife, of this place, attended the funeral of their uncle, Joseph Stone, at Ickesburg, on Monday last. ======= Blain Budget. The sad intelligence reached here by telegraph on Thursday afternoon of the death of Henry Baker which occurred at his home that morning at 4918 South Dearborn street, Chicago, Ill. He had not been so well for some time past, but was not bedfast and his sudden death came as a shock and regret to his many friends. The remains were consigned to its last resting place on Sunday in Chicago. His wife who was Miss Ella Thomas, and two children Arthur L. and Miss Mabel, at home, survive. The grief stricken family has the sincere sympathy of all in the loss of a kind parent and husband. Last fall Mr. Baker, wife and family visited their Perry county friends, this place, being the native home of Mr. And Mrs. Baker. Mr. Baker, the deceased was aged about 67 years. He is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Cornelius, of Chicago; Frederick and David, of Ohio; Chas and James, of Blain, this county; Eliza, (Mrs. David Hefflefinger, of Newburg, Cumberland county, and Ellen (Mrs. Joseph Johns) of New Germantown. Dear uncle, thou hast left us, And thy loss we deeply feel, But "twas God who has bereft us, He can all our sorrows heal. He's gone to the Christian's home, Gone where the weary are blest, Gone to the far away home To be forever at rest. ======= Philip Pressler and wife were in Pfoutz's Valley last week attending the funeral of William Wagner, who died of typhoid fever. He leaves a wife and six small children. Interment in Snyder county on Sunday. ======= David Tressler, Esq., of Centre township, was suddenly taken sick Wednesday evening of last week and at midnight he was in a critical condition. Physicians were summoned who pronounced the ailment strangulated hernia and advised his being taken to the Harrisburg Hospital at once. Thursday on a cot he was taken to the Hospital where he was operated on shortly after his arrival. The operation was a successful one and it was believed that he would recover, but a cold that he had before he went to Harrisburg developed after the operation into pneumonia, and his death is expected hourly. ======= Resolutions of Respect on the Death of John A. Garber. WHEREAS, In the providence of God, our brother and fellow Christian, John A. Garber, has been called from our Sabbath school and from his labors on earth and in the church to his reward in Heaven and to the assembly of believers in the kingdom of God, and, WHEREAS, He was for a number of years a faithful attendant of and worker in this Sabbath school, therefore, be it Resolved, That we hereby express our regard for him and our appreciation of him as a fellow laborer and as a Christian man. Resolved, That while we feel our loss in his death we will bow humbly and submissively to our Heavenly Father's will, and realizing our own mortality, that we will resolve by the help of God to make our lives a power for good to our fellow men and to the glory of God. Resolved, That a record of the death of Brother Garber and of these resolutions be made on the record book of our Sabbath school, that a copy of them be sent by the Secretary to the bereaved widow and family, and also to the county papers for publication. Her funeral took place on Friday at the Hill church. ======= MARRIED Deihl-Herrald.-On the 26th ult., at Liverpool, by Chas. E. Deckard, J. P. L. Frank Deihl to Eva Herrald, both of Liverpool borough. Neely-Foose.-On the 6th ult., at Carlisle Springs, by Rev. Henry Whissler, pastor of the Reformed church, Frank Neely to Miss Laura Foose, both of Spring township, this county. ======= DIED Albert.-On the 24th ult., in Liverpool township, William Albert, aged 70 years, 11 months and 25 days. Howe.-On the 17th ult., in Mifflintown, Juniata county, John N. Howe, formerly of Howe township, this county, aged 78 years, 9 months and 6 days. Smith.-On the 11th inst., in Rye township, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. D. P. Lightner, Annie, widow of Jacob Smith, aged 82 years, 10 months and 10 days. Stuber.-On the 20th ult., in Ickesburg, Joe Stuber, aged 61 years, 2 months and 14 days. ======= ORPHANS' COURT SALE OF VALUABLE REAL ESTATE. The undersigned, Trustee, appointed by the Orphans' Court of Perry county, Pa., to make sale of the real estate of which Thomas McCoy late of Saville township, in said county, died seized and possessed, by virtue of an order of said court, will expose to public sale upon the premises, on Saturday, November 19th, 1904 At 1 o'clock p.m., the following described real estate, situate in Saville township, in said county: The Mansion Tract, Bounded on the north by lands of Nat Adams and Philip Jacobs, on the east by lands of Geo. Spriggle and J. Harvey McCoy on the south by lands of Christian Swab's heirs, and on the west by lands of David Robinson, John Kuhn and others, containing 370 ACRES, more or lass. The improvements consist partly in a good DWELLING HOUSE, new bank barn and outbuildings; there is a good spring of water convenient to the house, and there is running water in some of the fields. The farm is in a good state of cultivation, yielding large crops of grain and hay, and having superior advantages for raising stock. TRACT NO. 2. A tract of woodland situate in said township, bounded on the north by land formerly of John Rouse; on the east by land formerly of David McCoy; on the south by land formerly of Wm. McClure, and by land of Susan Snyder on the west; containing about 72 ACRES, more or less, and having thereon the usual kind of wood and timber. Terms of Sale:--Ten per cent, of the purchase money to be paid cash on day of sale; fifteen percent, on confirmation of sale; twenty-five per cent on the first day of April, 1905, when the remainder on the first day of April, 1906, with interest from the first day of April, 1905, to be secured by judgment bond.
