The deceased was a son of Samuel and Catharine (Dum) Loy, and was born in Tyrone township, this county, and spent his early days on his father's farm, now the Reuben Moyer farm, near Centre. In young manhood he went with his parents West where he spent all his life. Mr. Loy was a prominent citizen in the State of Kansas and a few years ago was elected to the Legislature from that State. He was a member of the M. E. church and a great church worker. Deceased was a cousin of John W. and D. J. Kell, of this place, and with his family visited relatives and friends in this county at different times since he went West. ======= Death of Mrs. W. W. Snyder Mary A., relict of the late W. W. Snyder, Esq., of Bridgeport, Spring township, died at that place, Tuesday of last week as the result of a paralytic stroke received on the Friday previous. Mrs. Snyder apparently was in rather better health than usual the day she was stricken, and after the stroke rallied and it was hoped might recover, at least temporarily, but death claimed her as above stated. Deceased was a daughter of the late John Kistler, of Loysville, this county and was born Feb. 11, 1821, and died Nov. 1, 1904, aged 83 years, 8 months and 20 days. She was joined in wedlock with W. W. Snyder in 1840. From this union there resulted the following children: Eleanor, died in infancy; Elizabeth, Mrs. B. P. Hooke, dead; Emily M., Mrs. Simon B. Sheibley, of Spring township; Mary R., at home; John T., dead; Samuel, of Harrisburg; David T., at home; William H., of Loysville. She is survived by the following brothers: David Kistler, of Sandy Hill; Rev. John Kistler, of Carlisle; Samuel Kistler, of Hastings, Nebraska. Her husband died Jan. 16, 1892. Mrs. Snyder was a devout member of the Lutheran church and attended services until failing health prevented. She was a devoted wife and mother and a sincere and generous friend. Her past few years have been spent with her daughter, Miss Mary, who tenderly and lovingly cared for her until death closed her eyes. The remains of the aged mother were laid to rest beside those of her husband, at St. Peter's graveyard, Spring township, Saturday afternoon, her pastor, Rev. W. D. E. Scott, officiating. ======= A quiet wedding took place on Thursday evening, Nov. 3, at the home of Ezekiah Minich and wife. In Jackson township, when their only daughter, Miss Alice F., became the wife of Chas. R. Berrier, eldest son of David Berrier and wife, of Jackson township. Rev. C. A. Waltman pastor of both the bride and groom, performed the ceremony. Only the immediate relatives and a few intimate friends were present. A delicious wedding supper was served. A reception was given the happy couple on Friday at the home of the groom. On Thursday evening after the ceremonies the calithumpians did their best. We unite with many friends in extending best wishes for a happy and prosperous future. ======= MARRIED Keim-Barnhart.-On the 19th ult., in the Methodist Episcopal church, by Rev. L.
