Stuber, dec'd, of Saville township, have been issued to Elizabeth A. Stuber; on estate of Mary E. Huggins, dec'd, of Watts township, to John H. Huggins. ======= Surprise Birthday Party. Last Wednesday evening a surprise birthday party was entertained at the home of John S. Zimmerman, in Spring township, in honor of his fifty-seventh birthday. Mr. Zimmerman never suspected anything until the people began to arrive with baskets containing all kinds of delicious eatables. The happy crowd entertained themselves with vocal music and various games until 11 o'clock, when supper was announced. After doing full justice to the delicious meal all enjoyed themselves until between one and two o'clock when, after wishing Mr. Zimmerman many happy returns of the occasion, they departed for their respective homes. Those present were, Jos. Dunkelberger and wife, Sam'l Garlin and wife, George Fleisher and wife, Jacob Stutzman and wife, John Comp and wife, Samuel Comp and wife, John S. Zimmerman, Mrs. Chas. Stambaugh, Mrs. Lute Rice, Curtin Saylor, Emory Grundel, Howard Eby, John Smith, Roy Zimmerman, Calvin Dunkelberger, Ed Wertz, Valley Dunkelberger, Edw. Garman, Loy Rice, Bayard McMillen, Leslie Dunkelberger, Paul Fleisher, Frank and Smiley Comp, Daisy Moyer, Ida and Lucy Rice, Mary Kistler, Eulala and May Zimmerman, Annie Hench, Edna Rice, Hattie Brown, Della and Pearl Zimmerman, Nellie Dunkelberger, Margarette and Cecil Comp, Florence Stambaugh, Vergie Kitner. A Guest. ======= Duncannon Items. Mrs. Dr. F. C. McMorris left Monday evening of last week for Rocky Ford, Colorado, being called hence by the death of Fred McMorris the day previous, from typhoid fever, at his home in that place. Andrew J. Burd, a former resident of this place, died at his home in Boiling Springs, on the 2nd inst., aged 68 years and 7 months. His body was brought here Friday for burial. The remains of Mrs. William Haverstick, who died at her home, at Sulphur Springs, on the __ inst., of typhoid fever, were brought here on Monday of last week and interred in the Lutheran cemetery. ======= Elliottsburg Items. An enjoyable party was held at the home of Emanuel Sowers on Thursday last, it being the fortieth anniversary of their marriage. All enjoyed themselves highly and did ample justice to the fine roasted turkey and chicken. The following were present: S. L. Sowers and wife, H. O. Hench, wife and three children Ruth, Lester and Gaylor, John Utly, wife and daughter, Mrs. Hiram Burd and six children, Rev. Scott, wife and daughter, J. H. Moretz, wife and children, Chas. Fleisher, wife and children. ======= Carroll Township Items. William Smee, one of Carroll township's oldest citizens, died at his residence Thursday of last week, and was buried at Rivers church Saturday morning, Rev. A. L. House, officiating. ======= Lebo Items John, son of Wm. and Effie Reisinger, of Marysville, aged 6 years, 10 months and 22 days, died suddenly from heart trouble. His remains were interred in St. Peter's graveyard, this place. Abram S. Baker, an aged and highly respected citizen, died at his home in this place Saturday evening, 11th inst., in his 76th year. The deceased was a veteran of the Civil War, and he served through the war. He was a member of the bethel church and lived a consistent Christian life. Funeral on Wednesday morning, conducted by Rev. Esterline. Interment at Bethel church, this place. ======= Liverpool Items John R. Grubb, of Perry Valley, died on the 9th inst., after a short illness. Deceased had a paralytic stroke and gradually became weaker until the end came. Funeral was held on Sunday afternoon. Interment was made at the Lutheran church. ======= MARRIED Comp-Leonard.-On the 20th ult., at the Presbyterian parsonage, Mifflintown, by Rev. Clarence E. Hills, Wm. Alfred Comp, of Duncannon, to Miss Nora B. Leonard, of Waterloo, Juniata county. Fesler-Liddick.-On the 12th inst., at Millerstown, by E. P. Titzel, J.P., Charles P. Fesler, of Marysville, to Mary E. Liddick, of Millerstown. Meck-Wert.-On the 9th inst., at Millerstown, by Rev. M. S. Romig, Warren E. Meck to S. Viola Wert, both of Greenwood township. Beaston-Gutshall.-On the 10th inst., at the home of the bride, in Toboyne township, by J. A. Rhea, J.P., Ira Beaston to Margaret S. Gutshall, both of Toboyne township. Kochenderfer-Minich.-On the 8th inst., at the Lutheran parsonage, Loysville, by Rev. W. D. E. Scott, Harry M. Kochenderfer, of East McKeesport, Pa., formerly of Ickesburg, this county, to Miss Annie J. Minich, of New Kingston, Cumberland Co., Pa. ======= DIED Steele.-On the 2d inst., in Watts township, Wm.
