Loy, Auct. ======= A marriage license was issued Monday in Harrisburg to Henry E. Mening, of Frackville, Schuylkill county, and Miss Ruth E. Welcomer, of this place. Letters of administration on estate of Daniel Rife, deceased, of Duncannon have been issued to R. Jones Rife, of Philadelphia, and Emma C. Rife, Duncannon. Mrs. Bertha A. Scott, of Jackson township, having been adjudged a lunatic, was taken to the State Hospital for the insane at Harrisburg, Thursday last by Sheriff C. L. Johnson. Mr. And Mrs. James G. Brandt, of Millerstown, have issued invitations for the marriage on the 21st inst., at 8 p.m., of their daughter, Edna M., to Mr. Wm. S. Gregg, of Washington, D. C. A pension of $8 per month from Feb. 23, 1904, has been granted to Miss Margaret A. Flickinger, widow of Jacob R. Flickinger, dec'd of Ickesburg, through her attorney, J. C. Motter, Esq. Adam Shotsberger, of Centre township, was lodged in the county jail Friday charged with stealing turkeys from John C. Royer and skins of animals from Jacob Hoffman, both of Centre township. He was given a hearing today (Tuesday.) Many friends in this place will be pleased to learn that Mrs. W. H. Smith, of Newport, who recently had her right foot amputated at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital at Philadelphia, is making rapid progress toward recovery. Henry Shreffler, a native of Blain, this county, but who has been a resident of Newville, since 1865, died on the 12th inst. He had been ill about a year and was aged 70 years. He was a veteran of the Civil War, having enlisted the first time with Co. G, 132d Pa. Vols., then with Co. F., 208th Regulars, 1st lieutenant. He was a mason by trade and a splendid workman. A wife and seven children survive: Mrs. Anna Harman, Mt. Holly; Mrs. Lou Bender, of Bendersville; Harry, of Harrisburg; Mrs. Bentz, of Newport, and John, Emma and Justina, at home; also one brother, Frank Shreffler, of Pittsburg, and one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Mundorff, of Coraopolis, Pa. ======= Loysville Locals. The real estate of George H. Ritter, dec'd; adjoining this place, will be sold at executor's sale next Friday, 23d inst. Mr. Rebok and wife, of Louden, Franklin Co., Pa., spent part of their honeymoon with her brother, Mr. Rotz, and family, of this place. ======= Tribute of Respect. WHEREAS, in the providence of God, who hath seen fit to remove from our midst our much beloved brother, Philip C. Reisinger, who was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran church at Kistler, Pa., and an active, pious and devoted servant of God from his youth up to the day of his death, carrying with him the blessed assurance that Christ taketh care of his own; and that he was an elder in the church of his choice for thirty-five years, and was for many years the superintendent of the Sabbath school. In the death of Bro. Reisinger the church and community have lost their most efficient man; therefore, Resolved, That we bow in humble submission to the Divine will, knowing that what our Heavenly Father doeth is well done. Resolved, that while we hereby express our profound sorrow at his departure, we will ever cherish in loving remembrance his many noble Christian virtues. Resolved, That we truly sympathize with the bereaved family in their loss and deep grief, and assure them of the comfort of the Scriptures. Resolved, That a copy of these resolutions be sent to the family and copies of the same be sent to some of the county papers. Rice ======= Blain Budget. Rev. R. W. Woods, of Pittsburg, and G. L. Woods and wife, of Mechanicsburg attended the funeral of their sister, Mrs. W. F. Stambaugh on Tuesday of last week. ======= Items from Hench. Gloom was cast over our community Wednesday morning when it was learned that our friend and neighbor, Philip Reisinger, was dead. He had not been in good health for some years, having been troubled with sciatic rheumatism, but was able to be around and see after his work.-Tuesday evening he had something like cramp. Dr. B. H. Anderson was summoned who gave him immediate relief, but the next morning he had a similar attack, which caused his death.-The deceased was 64 years and 23 days old. Funeral services were held at the St. Mark's Lutheran church, Kistler, (of which church he was a member) Saturday at 10 a.m. Interment in St. Paul's cemetery, Rev. Nicholas officiating. ======= Kistler Notes. The death of Philip C. Reisinger, which occurred at his home at an early hour on Wednesday morning of last week, was quite a shock to his many relatives and friends in this vicinity. His remains were placed to rest in St. Paul's Lutheran cemetery on the 17th inst. ======= MARRIED Gutshall-Hoffman.-On the 19th inst., in this place, by Rev. I. Potter Hayes, Jeremiah G.
