CARRIE E. BARNER SHERMANSDALE - Mrs. Carrie Ellen Barner, 80, Shermansdale RD1, died at 4 p.m. Monday in the Polyclinic Medical Center, Harrisburg, where she had been a patient since Thanksgiving day. For the past year, she had been a guest in Perry Village, New Bloomsfield. Prior to that she lived with a nephew, Richard W. Bostwick, Shermansdale RD1. Born June 11, 1897 at Millerstown RD2, Juniata County, Mrs. Barner was the daughter of the late Isaac R. and Anna V. Rumbaugh Bostwick. In 1918, she married Harry Zaring Barner, who died in 1976. The couple lived in Perry County all of their lives. Mrs. Barner was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church and Sunday School, Liverpool RD1. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Kathryn Arnold of Sunbury. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in the George P. Garman Funeral Home, Liverpool, with the Rev. Jack L. Rider and the Rev. T. V. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Barner's Church Cemetery, Liverpool RD1. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from noon until the time of the service.
