GARLIN, 78, LIVERPOOL RD1 LIVERPOOL - Cora Ellen Garlin, 78, Liverpool RD1 died Tuesday afternoon at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill where she was a patient for the past six days. She had been previously hospitalized the month of July for a heart condition. Born March 20, 1909, at New Bloomfield RD1, she was a daughter of the late Jacob Harvey and Florence Matilda (Kitner) Reich. As a young girl, she was employed at Carson Long Institute, New Bloomfield. In 1927, she married Frank Wilbur Garlin, who died in 1977. The couple lived in Liverpool since 1947. Following her marriage, Mrs. Garlin was employed in the Sales Tax Division in Harrisburg. Prior to retiring in 1974, she worked for a number of years at Eileen Hope Dress Factory, Liverpool. Mrs. Garlin was a member of St. John's (Barner's) Lutheran Church, Liverpool RD1, Ladies Auxiliary of Liverpool Fire company, Ladies Auxiliary of Beal Fire Company, Walnut, Walnut Grange and Pomona Grange. She was a charter member of Ladies Auxiliary of the Newport Fire Company. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Gelnett of Liverpool RD1; a son, Frank E. of Walnut; a granddaughter; a sister, Mrs. Anna Diener of Mechanicsburg; three brothers, Robert Reich and Earl Reich, both of Shermansdale, and Edward Reich of New Bloomfield; and three half sisters, Francis Swarner of Carlisle, Jeanette Stauffer of Shermansdale and Dorothy Kline of Gardners. A son, James W., died in 1984. The funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John's (Barner's) Lutheran church, Liverpool RD1, by the Rev. Rodney L. Lilley. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery. Visitors may call at the George P. Garman Funeral Home, Liverpool, Friday evening and at the church Saturday from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service. Clipping September 8, 1987
