"Chup" Hockenbroch, 67, of RR1 Liverpool, died of a heart attack at 1:15 a.m. Monday, July 22, 1996, at his home. He was born Dec. 17, 1928, in Juniata County, a son of Arna Grace (Bucher) Hockenbroch of RR1 Liverpool and the late Aaron Delvin Hockenbroch. On Oct. 29, 1949, he married the former, Eleanor Faye Willow. They were married for 46 years. Mr. Hockenbroch was educated in the Juniata County-Susquehanna Township schools. He was formerly employed by the Phoenix Iron and Steel Co., Harrisburg; the Pennsylvania Railroad, Enola Yards; the New Cumberland Army Depot; the Mechanicsburg Navy Depot; Capitol Products of Mechanicsburg; the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Juniata County Department of Highways; and was employed by Poloron Homes, Middlesburg for 15 years, retiring due to disability. Mr. Hockenbroch was of the Methodist faith. He was a member of the Liverpool Volunteer Fire Company and Ambulance League and the American Association of Retired Persons, Mr. Hockenbroch was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener and race fan. In addition to his wife and mother, surviving are three sons, Russell R. of RR1 Liverpool, Glenn M. of Dauphin and Donald M. of RR1 Mount Pleasant Mills; one daughter, Carol L. Kauffman of RR1 Newport; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Leslie C. of RR2 Millerstown and Leon of RR1 Newport; and one sister, Myrna Buckley of RR1 Liverpool. He was preceded in death by two sons, Gene and Alan, both in 1973. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the George P. Garman Funeral Home, 606 N. Front St. Liverpool, by the Rev. Charles T. Tressler and the Rev. J. Kenneth Barner. Burial will be in St. John (Barners) Lutheran Church Cemetery, RR1 Liverpool. Visitors may call from noon until the time of the service Thursday at the funeral home.
